CUE system touch screen

Good morning to everyone,

I own a Cadillac SRX 2013 and I'm experience some trouble, as many of you, about the Cue system touch screen (freezing).
I went to dealership and they estimated about 1400 CAN$ to replace the touchscreen and moreover they also add that there is a possibility to cut the price if I can obtain the screen; and here came my questions.

Where you can buy safely the touch screen?
Does anyone know or have some experience with the following vendor?
and finally the last question.
Do you think should I go with their premium replacement or go with the new V-2018?

I'm asking all these question also because I had read of some situation where the buyer bought the touch screen and wasn't working.

Thank you very much for your help

The V2018 ONLY works if the head unit has already been replaced with a newer design unit. It's NOT backwards compatible with the old head units. If your head unit (full infotainment system inc screen and all the guts behind it) was changed out once already then you might need the V2018 (depending on the date that was done). If not, then you must stick to the version that matches your current system.

FYI I'm surprised the dealer is willing to just change the touch screen. Requires pulling the head unit, disassembling, changing out screen, reassemble, and put unit back into vehicle. The $1400 quote is for replacing the whole head unit, not just the screen. I think the dealer means if you can buy the head unit cheaper elsewhere, they'll swap the head units out for you. I HIGHLY doubt the dealer has the time or willingness to do the detailed screen swap within your head unit. Hell, their labour charge for doing that would probably equate or exceed their whole head unit change charges.

This is all you need to get you up and running...read the webpage and you will know exactly what model screen you need.
my CUE had been replaced by a dealer with the newer unit and I had to spend $180 on the v2018 CUE screen replacement vs the $79 CUE screen.
this is a good company with step by step videos. Took me about two hours to complete the job.
BTW, they sell their CUE screens on Amazon, much faster shipping and better return policy if you have an issue, same price

I think dealers are getting open to the idea of changing just screens. Buddy has a 14 ATS in Vancouver, bought used, presets didn't work on the screen, I gave him the CUEscreens link, he bought the screen, and dealer charged 250 to install, they said they do them all the time. This was at the local Cadillac dealer.

Great price and a smart dealer. its not a difficult task for anyone with a few skills removing automotive trim and patience.

I have a related question. My CUE screen just suddenly stopped reacting to touches. Any touches in any area. Does it mean I finally reached this place where I need to replace touchscreen or there are other conditions this could happen?
Nope, needs to be replaced usually, but, sometimes a "hard re-start" can work.
Remove the radio fuse for 1 minute, open the drivers door and close it, reconnect, .....or disconnect the battery positive cable and touch it to the negative post, then reconnect, then see if it works again. If not, you'll need to replace it.

If the battery is disconnected do you still need to remove the fuse and open and close the drivers door? Just wouldn't think that would do anything if all systems were powered down. But these new cars are so complicated I wouldn't be surprised if there was capacitive remnants.
