I have a 2016 ATS and my CUE keeps powering off and coming back on randomly. I do the open door reset trick constantly, but that doesn't effect it. Sometimes the system works perfectly and other times it just keeps shutting off and coming back on. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you trouble shoot it/ solve it? All help and advice is much appreciated.

Don't remember anyone specifically having this problem. By the open door trick, do you mean the CUE hard reset? If yes, possible CUE or HMI is going out, maybe a loose connection. Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then step on the brake to drain residual power. Need a 10mm socket. After 10 minutes, reconnect and see if it gives you joy. Make sure retained accessory power is off before doing this. These cars are rolling computers, this is like doing a power cycle on a misbehaving computer. Take care not to close trunk while disconnected. Worked for this guy, but his was a base version:

Some have reported weird symptoms when the battery is starting to go bad. Have you checked the battery voltages on the DIC? This thread might be helpful on what you should see:

Is it just the display fading out? The flex cable for the door has been a problem with some models, more likely if you frequently use the hidden compartment/"cell phone cooking" compartment (It gets very HOT in there, especially if your cell is at low charge and rapidly charging through the USB port.

Yes, I was talking about the CUE "hard" reset. Opening the door and waiting until the lights on the dash tuen off (about 30 seconds) I have not tried disconnecting the negative battery terminal. I will give that go and let you know. Thanks!

No. the entire system goes dark and the sound cuts out. A/C stays on and I can still change the settings. I never use the secret compartment. What a waste of space.

I have had to replace the battery once and the alternator TWICE actually. I did notice the CUE worked fine for a while after the service then eventually started malfunctioning again. I know the way the voltage works on these is weird. My starting voltage is like 11 and them after cranking up it goes up to the 14 to 15 range.

I also tried disconnection the battery and that didn't work. Now the unit has gone dark and wont come on at all anymore. I am thinking about maybe trading this piece of junk in for something else. I don't know why I convinced myself to buy another GM vehicle.

This just happened to me today for the first time. Screen went blank while driving then turned back on and worked fine the next 15 minutes on the way home. Nothing plugged in, phone on bluetooth.
It really suck that this happens to almost every single caddy in that generation and they will do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. GM is such a garbage company. They really don't give a damn about they customers. Last time I ever buy one of their vehicles. I have owned two now and they were both junk.

Nope they don't care about you once they get their money. Gm is no different than the rest of the car manufacturers. It's your job to do your do diligence before you buy a vehicle. Buy one you can live with. They all have their Achilles heel, some worse than others.

I have recently had the same issue start with my 2016 Cadillac ATS.... did you ever figure out a resolution? I've replaced the touchscreen and all worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago my screen started turning off and disconnecting my phone from blue tooth. It's extremely frustrating if I am on a phone call! Help!

Check the software version installed. I had a similar issue where it would keep disconnecting and slowing to a halt and freezing, going black, restarting, and then beginning that cycle again. I wound up getting the software updated and it’s been effective since

I won't say I "figured it out" but I've had the screen blank out and come back on me a few times over the past 6 years of ownership. It's the system resetting itself, probably due to a crash. Without logs or debugs I can't say what causes it, but here's what happened to me most recently:

A few days ago I was driving to a friend's house and was streaming a radio station from the Radiobox app on my Samsung S10e through Bluetooth. After a few seconds of playing any station I tried, CUE would stop playing and then crash/reboot a moment later. It did this continually whenever I tried playing radio stations through this app. But if I streamed music from my phone's disk or via the USB drive, it worked just fine. I just went back to listening to the radio that day. It appears newer phone audio apps may have updated audio or Bluetooth protocols that aren't compatible and cause CUE to crap it's bed and reboot.

So if any of you are seeing CUE reboot while using it, pay attention to whether you were streaming something with your phone via Bluetooth at the time of reboot. Unfortunate, but the cost of progress I guess 😏.
