Greetings,

As we all know, CUE is a relatively new infotainment system, and it is evident there are bugs along the way. I've noticed that when trying to resolve these issues, there seems to be inconsistencies between users stating that their dealer did an update, or dealers saying that no updates are available yet...blah blah...

That being said, I believe we can really help each other out by checking our system versions and seeing if the version is newer/older and if it includes a fix with the issue we are dealing with at the moment.

To check which version you are using, start from home/settings/Software information/software.

For example, I am running version 23141813. I purchased at the end of February so I BELIEVE I am on the latest version because I am not having the issues many are with their CUE.

Again, this is just a thought so at the very least, we may see if everyone is on the latest update. This way it is easier to diagnose a software v. hardware issue.

Haven't seen that number before. Latest I've seen reported, and in my own 2013 SRX (after having nav problems they gave me a new HID with latest software on it in January), is 23427521.

Assuming the number increments the way you'd expect, the software numbers I've seen reported (w/nav --non-nav vehicle software has a slightly different number for each version, just the last digit or two differ, I believe), from most recent to oldest are:

23427521
23189613
23150273 (the March 2013 update)
23141813 (<-- Jayceejay)

I've never seen reported what the original shipping software version number was pre-March 2013 update. Except your number seems to be before that. . . sure you wrote it down right? Or maybe the number doesn't increment the way we think.

I'm beginning to think that they do not increase the way I was thinking. Probably due to different car models and CUE types (nav/no nav). This would also explain slow updates.

My dad has a 2014 ATS (2.0T / AWD), with Nav. Just purchased April 30 2014. It shipped (?) with version 23443768.

It is also rebooting / black-screening every couple of minutes while trying to read an SD card with ~16GB of music on it. :(

The music is WMA, because he uses Windows Media Player on his PC. It is able to recognize and play some of the stuff, but it keeps rebooting while trying to index, even if he is just listening to radio rather than the card... I'm going to start a new thread asking for suggestions on this, because he's really disappointed his shiny new 2014 car can't handle it.

took delivery of my 2014 ATS end of May 2014. Software code on mine is 23427521. Are we able to update the software ourselves via a USB drive, or is this something the dealer must do? If not self-service, funny how this works differently from car to car. Our daughter's Fiesta is owner-updatable.

Hello TraderAlex,

Congratulations on your recent purchase of a 2014 ATS! I hope you have been enjoying your ownership experience so far. Software updates for your vehicle is something that must be performed at your dealership. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to send us a private message. We are here to assist anyway that we can.

Sincerely,

Laura M.

Does your cue have nav or is it non-nav like mine?
Oh, yours is non-nav? That might explain the otherwise curious version number. Maybe the nav vs non-nav version numbers have diverged much more significantly after the March 2013 update.

----------

My dad has a 2014 ATS (2.0T / AWD), with Nav. Just purchased April 30 2014. It shipped (?) with version 23443768.
Okay, now that's a new one and more in the numbering order I would have expected.

----------

So now we have:

23443768 (2014 ATS purchased on 4/30/2014)
23427521
23189613
23150273 (the March 2013 update)
23141813 (<-- Jayceejay with no nav)

That's what I'm talking about! This helps to see which cue versions are floating around out there.

Problem is those part numbers make it hard to compare and really don't mean jack. Go into the dev menu and post the software version from there ie 12.6 106 etc. that will give you a much cleaner idea.

"press and hold HOME then VOL DOWN at the same time" to access the Dev menu and get your HMI (Human-Machine Interface) version. Software Version is available from the main settings menu from the home page of CUE (the big gear).

23443768 (2014 ATS purchased on 4/30/2014)
23427521 (2014 ATS purchased December 2013)
23427521, Build Version 12.6N106 (2013 SRX which received a v2 HMI replacement in Jan 2014)
23196642, Build Version 12.6N096 (2014 ATS, took ownership in Oct 2013)
23189613 (2013 ATS updated in Jan 2014, flycaster)
23150273 (the March 2013 update)

Is there an update for the 2013 XTS after the March, 2013 xxx273 one?
Not "generally available", by which I mean you can't just call up your dealer and tell him you want to bring it in and get an update. You'd have to prove a need to their (and GM Infotainment's) satisfaction that it is broken somehow.

The ones that will be easy to compare should be formatted like this 12.2SXXX

Here is a list of the current GM signed/approved releases:

2015 HMI Module (SW 14.1F013*)

2014 HMI Module (SW 12.6N155*) - I don't believe this update has been released yet.

2014 HMI Module (SW 12.6N146.3*) - AFAIK current 2014 Release shipping in 2015 Trucks.

2014 HMI Module (SW 12.6N106* to 12.6N109*)

2014 HMI Module (SW 12.6N096*, 12.6N098*)

2014 HMI Module (SW 12.6N057.2* and 12.7N015* to 12.7N025*)

2013 HMI Module (HW1.1) with MY14 SW (SW 12.5Exxx* later than 12.5E040*)

2013 HMI Module (SW 12.2Sxxx*): XTS, ATS (Region North America)

2013 HMI Module (SW 12.3Sxxx*)

So that looks like what the HMI dev screens call BUILDVERSION; everything after the underscore. So mine is "GMG2_12.6N106" and you're talking about just the bit after the underscore.
