CUE software updates

I thought that in order to receive an over the air software update you had to have a paid plan for the cars WYFI Hot Spot, but I found out that there is a WYFI Network from your car that you can connect to your home network by means of your home network password and you can also receive any over the air software updates that way.

Cadillac will be releasing a New Software Update on Monday, June 22,2020. I know this update will be addressing the grayed out preset issue, but I am not certain if it will address the CUE display selected APP defaulting to the Home page APP or any other issues.

The Cadillac customer service advisor will be calling me tomorrow to confirm the software update release. If they send it over the air I am all set up, but if not I will be taking the car in to service for the update. I will post back with further details on tomorrow. It will probably take a couple of weeks to know if this software works.

If this software update is sent over the air be on the look out for it.

In the process of connecting the WYFI Network I decided to set up my personal profile set up which is a nice feature.

Is there any new info down in the dedicated CUE forum ? Some stuff gets posted there .......

I am pretty sure that you will need to be in range of your home networks signal, like in the garage, for any networking downloads to work. I assume you know that. I never tried it but I know my iPhone can be setup as a wifi hotspot and then you could connect the CUE/XTS to that. Then as long as you have the phone with you, and in the car, you would have networking capabilities.I would think it best to have the phone connected to CUE via usb rather than use Bluetooth, if BT even works to support the network extension.

I just tried it (7:15pm Pacific) and no updates found. I'm on 22.9 at the moment. As an aside ... I had to keep reconnecting to my wifi network. Every time I would navigate away from the "Updates" page, it would disconnect from the wifi network. I don't know if it's supposed to do that.

I too have been checking to see if there is an over the air update. I am thinking that this update will have to be installed by service.

I too received the WYFI disconnected message even though both my hotspot and network WYFI were connected.

The service manager had told me sometime ago that due to some issues not to many software updates were being sent over the air.

I am expecting to hear something from the Cadillac advisor and the service department today about installation details.

Let us know if you notice any changes. My car goes back in again to the dealership next week for my latest CUE issues. I suspect they'll install the update on mine at that time ... just because.

I've already had an update to address the graying out issue and haven't had an issue so far since (I'm still on 22.9). I very much hope that next week, the dealership doesn't tell me that all they're going to do is install the update and that it should fix my issue ... unless they can show me the TSB or whatever that indicates that the update is specifically for my CUE's issues.

I was just talking to my dealer to schedule a recall for the chime audio, so I also inquired about updating the CUE system at the same time. I checked my CUE system this morning, and it says I am on build PS20.9. I was connected to my home wifi when I checked for the CUE update, and the system said there is no update available. When I explained this to the dealer, he said I checked for CUE updates correctly, and there is no update available. That doesn't seem to jive with the information on this thread. Weird.

The software update will not becoming over the air. You will probably not see anything on CUE about a software update as due to some problems Cadillac is not sending a lot of over the air software update.

The software update is 22.10 and service should be aware of it by now.

I just had the 22.10 software update installed. It is just a wait and see to see if the update is a success  I did check in my CUE and it did show that I do have the 22.10 software update:cool:

There is still no update for the CUE selected app display defaulting to the home page display and it does not appear that there will be:eek:

May the force be with us:alien:

I know everyone is probably tired of seeing all my post, but I just wanted to share that I have not seen where this software update has created any new issues. I still need a little more time before I declare the update a success.

Perhaps someone else will get the update and have more to share.

To be honest the CUE is not all that bad and for the most part it has never failed me in a way in which I could not use it. It is just these two little issues that I have that I find to be annoying. If the software corrects the preset graying out issue I think I can live with the CUE selected display defaulting to the Home page.

Since the software update I still have had no graying out of the Audio Presets, but still only time will tell. I am getting a year of OnStar Safety and Security and Remote Access compliments of Cadillac.
The Cadillac Advisor is still waiting to hear from Brand Quality about the CUE selected app display sometimes defaulting to the Home page.
The one thing that I just found out is that once the display defaults from anything that you select from the Short Cuts Dock it will only default to either of the two pages on the Home Page and if you make your selection from the Home Page the two selections will default between themselves. I just find the whole scenario to be interesting.

The Cadillac Advisor just called and said that Cadillac considers the CUE selected APP's display default to home as a normal operation of the system. They recognize there are some complaints but they are not addressing the issue at this particular time:eek:

This case for me is now closed:coffee:

I will, but it looks like you have passed on quite a few updates. I don’t blame you, but I had to get the 22.8 update due to XM issues. The 22.8 update is what they say brought on the Audio Preset Grayed out issue.
The service manager said that the 22.9 did not correct that issue so he did not install it so we waited for the release of the 22.10 and still so far so good.

Canadian roads are not the best, and I have not experienced bounce or being bouncy. Are you off roading, lol. The other day I pulled into a fine gravel lot with craters like the Moon (business pick up)...so there I did have tilt and bounce...I will NEVER go there again! Luckily I did not bottom out.

The Pirellli Centurato P7 Plus comes in our size and with the same V speed rating. The reviewers at Tire Rack rate them much higher than the GoodYear’s. I first gave them a try but was not pleased with them so using the 30 day Satisfaction guarantee I returned them and got the Good Year Eagle Touring.

I will stay with the Good years, but if Michelin brings out the Premier in our size I will go with them. I would also ask that you might want to consider doing the same but if the Premier is not released in our size before time for you to trade, I really believe you will be quite pleased with the GoodYear’s,

You really have to be careful with ratings and reviews as they can often times be very subjective.

I hope you are enjoying your XTS as much as I am enjoying mine. I understand, but really hate to see the direction that Cadillac is heading🤔

Did my update from 20.1 to 22.10 last night. It took 12 minutes. My heart sank when I powered it up and the XM favorites stations were grayed out, then I remembered when I updated my 2018 Xts system before I had to delete the stations and re-enter them, I hope that's it.
I only had the default issue a couple of times with 20.10. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

After doing my CUE 22.10 update Wednesday and thinking it was all good , today -Thursday I am able to check it out bit more. Radio Favorites are grayed out. And my NAV no longer works. Total NAV black screen. I made an appointment for with Cadillac service since I am under warranty , I will not waste time playing with this. 🤦‍♂️

CUE began defaulting to the Home screen which is not a problem for me. Music keeps playing and I just select the Audio screen. Nav still works. I don't subscribe to XM, my one local AM station present does not get (never did) grayed out. No Agreement screen yet - as mentioned - it was most likely done by the Dealer.

I am sorry to hear this. I have had no real issues since I had the 22.10 installed 3 months ago.

I hope the dealership did any prior updates that you might not have had done prior to installing the 22.10 update as this could be part of the problem.

The problem that you are experiencing should be able to be corrected by service. The car is under warranty. I would Pursue getting this issue resolved.

If you have not done so I would recommend that you contact Cadillac Executive Referral.

The most recent updates were 22.8, 22.9 and 22.10. Each of these updates only addressed a specific issue. The 22.10 update only addressed the grayed out preset issue. It is possible to have another issue that perhaps the 22.8 and 22.9 updates might address.

My 22.10 update was done manually as the over the air update had not been released at that time, but if it had have been I would have ask the service department to perform any and all other pending updates before I would have installed an over the air update.

Once you install and update you cannot reinstall it. The service department would have to back out the installed update and reinstall it again. Just because a software update is released it does not mean that that particular software update is for your car. Any over the air update that you receive will before for your car.

My best to anyone who is experiencing any major issue with the CUE. I hope your issue will be resolved soon.
