2015 CTS. When plugged in with a USB, my CUE will not correctly display the song that the iPod is playing past the first one it plays upon plug in. The next song will play but the display will not update. If I press the NEXT button on the steering wheel or the CUE screen, it will update to display the proper song title, and will skip a song in the process. But if I let it go on its own, it will not update the song title as the iPod plays. Also, if I skip through songs, the CUE will lag on the skip for 5 seconds, sometimes 10 seconds or more. Both of these experiences have happened with 4 different iPods, some older, some newer and with three different cords, two Apple cords, one 3rd party. I have not tried an iPhone, my husband has a 6S. And I have Android phone that I have not tested because I have no music on it.

But if I pair the iPod that has Bluetooth (only one of the four has BT capability), the CUE behaves properly. The song display updates correctly immediately as it should and the skip function works great (at least today it did).

I understand that I can just use the BT function and hopefully not have any problem as time goes on. I'd prefer to be able to plug in my iPod so that the battery is not running down faster, plus I don't think I should have to continuously hit NEXT near the end of every single song in order to see the song titles displayed correctly.

I just wonder if the above mentioned behavior is normal for iPods that must be plugged in or should the CUE work better than that and perhaps be replaced?

Are you describing an iPod Touch, when you mention the one with Bluetooth?

Just curious, as I'm considering purchasing an iPod touch to just leave it in my 2018 ATS for Apple Music. My whole collection is on Apple Music, but my phone is an Android (Pixel 2) - don't ask how that happened.

And, Apple Music on Android is unusable for me - with Android Auto, artist/album browsing is severely limited and using Bluetooth, Apple Music for Android doesn't update the CUE display correctly.

I just plugged a 128gb usb drive in the usb slot in the hidden space and it works great.
Yes. I have a 256GB USB flash drive, plugged into the console port, and that works, too. But it doesn't update over Wi-Fi with new music, like an iPod Touch.

Fair enough, interestingly enough my wifes iphone has no trouble playing over blue tooth! If hers is the one connected and you select bt media, it will start playing! On my other car radios in other vehicles, you have to choose the behavior of using bt or wired.

I may try the USB. Although I was able to copy my ipod over to my Android phone, and using Bluetooth, the songs play fine, the CUE display updates fine, so that is a positive. I was just trying to actually get use out of my iPod since I paid money for the damn thing. I don't want to have 4 that I no longer use, having 3 was already too many.
