I was in Warren last week and then Milford, driving a ATS V. Tech at track told me to put the engine and transmission module from the ATS V, 3.6l in my CTS V Sport and then dino my car. Has anyone tried this?

They both run e92 ecm so it would plug up but wouldn't run as set for vin and security features keep it from starting. The vsport runs an asian tl80-sn and the atsv runs an 8l90e and the tcm is inside the transmission so not even physically possible. Not stand alone tcm in either car.
Now I will say the atsv tune in a cts vsport is a big improvement. I have hptuners and just did a mostly copy of the atsv tune over to my ctsv and it is a different car. The trans side still limits and closes throttle but seeing 18 lbs of boost and comes in much faster. So the few mild differences in the motor like lighter rotating assembly (rods) and the better turbo design being lighter but same size must not play a huge part in the performance of the atsv. Now I don't know an exact but what I am going to do is do a run on my gtech pro with the stock tune then with the atsv tune and see the how much the increase in mph is between the two. Then I can get an aprox hp increase by the amount of mph increase. The gtech is a great tool for doing mods and testing how they respond. Is isn't that bad in actual quarter mile time either. It was with in 2 ths and 2 mph the last time at the track with a car when ran it in the window to compare. Close enough to say my car can run X in the quarter but great for comparing for power increase. Once I get some solid data I will post it but so far feels great and will be adding to it with more timing and boost once I get the transmission tune done to take off the torque management that's closing the throttle on the shifts.
