Damn....thats sick...
I mis-read the thread title also, until I watched the video.lol
no
that CTS is a CTS-V Slayer
the lund ctsI saw a normally aspirated, non-supercharged, V6 Buick that ran in the low 9s. The fastest lap turned on a super speedway in NASCAR in the restrictor plate era is by a Busch series Buick. Buick quit NASCAR when Bill France wouldn't let them run the V6 in Winston Cup. V6 Buicks have earned everything they've got. If you plan on challenging them you better have something good. Chevrolet used a V6 Buick in their Corvette GTP. It was known to put out nearly 1200HP.
I wonder why they can't give it away.
different car koz your thinking of the yellow ugly 3.6I wonder why they can't give it away.
I'm afraid you're right. The 3.6L engine is a tiny thing. It's a fact of life that you increase HP by narrowing the power band and putting the peak higher up the RPM scale. Eventually you have a buzzy little devil that requires a 16 speed transmission. It is what it is.It's a good thing you guys didn't live out the mid 70's to mid 80's. You all would have jumped off a bridge. To say the 3.6 CTS is a poor performer is cruel. I had a brand new 230 HP 1985 Corvette whose performance numbers are almost dead even with my 2006 CTS. Hell the top dog Corvette of 1976 had 205 HP. Yo guys don't know how great these current times are. Enjoy them cause I think they're gonna go away again.
They did turbo it... Twin turboedLook at what the Grand National did back then...You're telling me with the tech features the 3.6 has it can't be made to scream? WTF? Why doesn't GM get behind it and see what she can do? Turbo it and open her up and try different tunes and let 'er out...GM got completely behind racing that pos cobalt or whatever it was trying to dethrone the dodge neon. I'm pissed at GM
