I've been getting the bug to purchase a V, and have been driving the old 99 STS for a while. It's been a worthy car, big and relatively fast, and while I thought I was interested in a new STS I'm leaning torwards the CTS-V more and more.

Being 6'3", will I feel cramped? I just sat in one today at Capitol Cadillac in MD before picking up a tie rod end, and it seemed like a good fit!

I've owned small motorcycles and small cars before, and think I know the answer, but let me know your thoughts.

6'4" 250 - am buying this car now because I want something sporty I fit in. The interior is cavernous in comparison to S4, C class or M3 - not to mention my g35 coupe LOL. Eyeballing, looks like with a sunroof I'd have enough room for a helmet.

Hmmm, great feedback.

Frankly, I think it will be a terrific car, but will then have to deal with my wife who likes to shift gears and drive like Mario A. wanting to drive the V.

She has always disliked the STS, being slightly too big, since she's 5' 2"; but always comments on the power. I'll have to fight her for the V, or put a very loud exhaust on it from the get go! She loved my old SAAB turbo until I got the open exhaust...

Thanks,

James,

Do you go to Summit Point?

What track to folks take their V's to locally?

Yes... Summit Point since it's about a 45 minute drive from where I live...

While I was there last time driving my other car (Not the V), I sat in the V with my helmet on to see what the headroom was like...

Disclaimer: You shouldn't race your V... That would be abuse, and any failure as a result of said action would not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty...

6'4", 275lbs. This is one of the few cars I can drive comfortably and then switch to the back w/out moving the seat and still be comfortable (at least as comfortable as one can be when not getting to drive their own car). Of course I'm only a poor grad student with a regular CTS not a V, but I'm sure that will change somewhere around May, 2009!

6'3" 265lbs. Fit is great. Far more comfortable than E39 M5 that I used to drive. Plenty of room in and around pedals and wheel to do performance work, no bumping at all. Fitting comfotably with a helmet may be an issue with the sunroof... eyeballing is useless compared to putting the helmet on and adjusting the seatback forward for track use, then you'll know.
