Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I am on my second V. 1st one was an '09 sedan. Thoroughly enjoyed it and recently traded in for '13 coupe in Thunder Grey after the last kid moved out. Everything has been great except the last two weeks I have had trouble with the door release button. If the car is running but in park the push button release does not work about half the time and I have to use the lever on the floor. If I shut the car off the button will work. Spoke with my salesperson and a tech at the dealership, both said they haven't heard of this problem before. I am taking it in next week so they can look into it. Have any of my fellow V owners had this issue, and if so, what did the dealership do about it? Thanks fo any advice.

Good idea. I have made some changes in the DIC. Maybe made an unintended selection. thanks for the advice Trapspeed!

Good call. I went through the DIC and under autodoor locking options found the issue. unfortunately there isn't an option to automatically unlock only the drivers door when the car is shifted in park, just all doors. Since I consider this an unsafe setting (allows anyone to open the passenger door), I will leave it set on all doors and just push the unlock button before the door release. Cadillac should have thought about that. Thanks again Trapspeed!

Anyone having problems with the pad on the door not opening the door from time to time? My passenger door always works, but my driver's door pad will sometimes not open the door.

Hello Mike,

I apologize that you are experiencing a concern with your keypad on your CTS-V. Have you had a chance to reach out to the dealership regarding this? If not, I would suggest setting up an appointment with their service department so that they can look further into this. I would be more than happy to assist you in setting up an appointment if you would like. Please feel free to private message me if you would like my assistance and would like to further discuss your concern.

Thanks, Greg. I think I'm in good hands with the dealership; I have a new XTS loaner and expect my car tomorrow.

My 2011 Coupe had an issue with the door opening button, it was intermittent. Had to push 2-3 times to activate. I found this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBRAV-PEAtA
that shows how to take the button out and dis assemble it for cleaning.
It took me about 20 minutes total to do the job and it works like new.
I also used some DEOXIT
http://caig.com/
to clean and coat the contacts, had some laying around from my days of fixing flip phones.

I would recommend anyone doing this to be very careful to not break the plastic housings while prying the switch apart.

I have a coupe and the button is the culprit. I removed mine and disassembled it, cleaned the contacts, reassembled and reconnected. Work like new.
