So after purchasing my 2010 Cts with the 3.6L I noticed that one starting my car it seems slow turning over as in the speed of the starter almost like the battery was low. So after checking out my battery I determined that it probably could be upgraded so I bought a brand new one. Same thing although it does turn over a little bit faster. No after jumping in my wife 2015 SRX the difference is night and day. Anybody have any thoughts as to why?

Make sure that your new battery is fully charged. It should be at least 12.6v. You could also inspect and clean the battery connections.

and make sure to get your battery load tested...that's important...Marv would add more but he's off enjoying a Mercedes at the moment :D

Battery is operating at 100%. Terminals were perfect but I went ahead and used my WD-40 brand electrical contact cleaner and used my battery terminal cleaner tool. And like I said before, with the new battery it’s “better” but turns over no where as fast as my wife’s 15’ srx or my Chevy Cruze. Could it be the starter ?? Maybe it’s just the normal way it starts. Maybe I could post a video? Stumped.

Ps. Even tried throwing my trickle charger on 2 amps over night and it didn’t help. Don’t think it’s the battery???

It could be the starter but first you should have the battery load tested as silversport suggested.

Posting a vid would be a good idea, but I'd venture a guess that your CTS should start nearly identical to your SRX.

Well just left o’riellys. Alternator is putting out 14.6 v and 40 something amps. Tester said battery is 75% and needs charged. So I’ll throw the charger on it again. And I’ve already checked the water level too.

Most often "new" batteries sit on a shelf until purchased, losing their charge.
It is recommended to refresh a battery before putting it into service if you have that luxury.

Agreed. I checked water level and put it on 8 amp over night and my “fancy digital “ charger said it was 100%. That was a month ago and honestly I don’t remember how well it started. But I’ll charge it overnight tonight and post results tomorrow.

so after everything you have done to your battery it shows 75% charged...that should tell you something may be amiss with it...good luck with your fix

Bill
When I stated it was 100% that was the day after I bought it. So we will see what happens tomorrow.
