hi everybody!
i recently bought the 2004 cts & i am already thinking of putting 20" rims on them. i'd like to see some pics of all u cts owners that have done this already (just wanna see various rim styles for the cts before i decide on picking a rim). the giovanna abruzzos are the only ones i think go good w/ the car but don't think the bolt pattern can house the rim...or can it??)
which one of u guys is gonna change my mind? ;)

thanx in advance guys!!
newbie

18" Wheels

BuildingCTSAMG:

What size tires do you have mounted to those 18" rims? 225/45R18? The new CTS-v will have 245/45R18's. Any ideas on who would make a rim big enough to fit these? Will there be a significant enough performance change between the 245/45R18 and 225/45R18?

Thanks!

My car has 245/40/18 on 8.5 in wide rims, they are much more wider than the stock tires :). Although in my opinion going with 9in or more wider rims is just to wide for the car

Here are some pics I had of my 20s. They are Dub Bellagios. If you aren't familiar with the rim, they are "spinners." (They continue to spin for about 5 minutes when the wheel stops moving.) I'm not sure if you are interested in spinners. I think the looks of these can't be beat. The downsides are: hassle of accessing valve stem, hassle of removing wheel (extra tools & expertise needed), and price (these ran $7000 for the set, plus tires).

Good news about 20s. They fit well with no rub and still a great turning radius. They look great, and the ride isn't compromised.

 I think 19s or 20s would look good. I've got 18's and I would prefer more wheel and a lower profile tire, something dignified for the CTS. Plenty of options to choose from. Hopefully, the manufactuers will take the hint and start offering 19s or 20's as a factory option. I'm not impressed with most aftermarket wheels. The 16s and 17s OEM wheels offered are a joke. The CTS-V wheels are NICE!Give us more! :bonkers:

I have a kit to put 18" XLR wheels on our cars. Click the link below my signature to find the auction for XLR wheels. I can also sell just the wheels and hub kits for $1200. The styling of the XLR wheel makes it look more like a 19" wheel than an 18" wheel.

cheers,

I am reminded of a set of 19s that one of the forum's most esteemed members, 'miscreant', posted a couple months ago...

Hopefully, he'll chime in and tell us if he ever installed larger brakes.
Haven't done brakes yet :( But I will have pics up soon with my V front end on...
