Hey all, I haven't been logged into this forum in so long since I had forgotten my password and had multiple accounts but I've always been around listening to latest and greatest. Anyway, I finally decided to budge and have decided I'm going to go with coilovers. My only issue is I don't know which ones to choose. Now, my car is a 2004 Cadillac CTS (non-v) but I modified my wheels, lug pattern (6-bolt), and bumper (friend hit my car). I have heard of the H&R Kit, the KW3 kit, and the spacer mods. I feel I want my car lower than the 1 1/4" that Eibachs Springs can go and so I felt more comfortable getting the coils. So I was curious as to what recommendations you had. And I know some will say to search the forms but it's hard to sift through the countless arguments people have. I just want straightup answers without bickering haha. Any help is always appreciated. This should be posted in the CTS forums. Your wheel lug pattern does not affect your suspension.... nor does your bumper.

KW V3 kit is great and you can lower it as much as you like. Six lugs on a non v that is a shocker.

Not to be rude, I know that it doesn't but I figured lowered V's are way more popular than lowered CTS. I want a reliable suspension setup. And I've heard of that; you know anywhere where it's cheaper than $1950/$2000. And I know it'll cost somethin, just tryin to cut it under 2k. Any popularity with the K Sports / H&R setups? I saw that one guy's setup who has the slick looking blue car and he had k-sports, just wondering if he had to modify any other aspects of his suspension.

The Ground Control kit I used was about $475. It uses Eibach springs and your current shocks. By rearranging the bushings and spacers on the shocks, it fools the self-leveling part of the CTS-V. (Not sure if regular CTS has this feature.) Anyway, if your shocks are okay, you could call them and find out if the GC kit would work on your car, and it's a bunch less than $2k.

The CTS-V 7 spoke wheel looks the best on the CTS in my opinion. The stock CTS one's are shit. And I found a set at a junkyard for next to nothing, had them powder-coated. Couldn't pass them up. I would've liked to purchase CCW's or TSW's but at the time this was a steal. Machined a new set of disks and it worked out. I have seen aftermark 5 lug 7 spoke rims, yet there were still pricey.

Yes. The faq has a section devoted to the GC install. It was done by ronr and is pretty exhaustive.

I think I'll go with the ground control kit, as well.

it's at the sweet spot of being an inexpensive 90% solution.
