My handy work..keep in mind I normally autocross a car that is only 1900lbs. I will have some in-car video next month. I'm having a re-match with my buddie in the 3 Series BMW. :D

I hope all can vew this.. its in vob form. This is prior to having the alignment done. ( My car has 0* camber from the factory ) It now has -1.0 front to rear.
File size is 37mb sorry I couldn't make it smaller..

That damn film is addictive. I find myself watching it over and over.

Nope, wont play for me. I've got a broadband (cable modem) connection.

*EDIT* - ok, I just did "save as" and was then able to view it. AWSOME VIDEO!!! Since this is probably going to get a lot of attention from the "autocrossing types" here on the forum, does anyone know of any car/autocross clubs in the Indianapolis area? I've seen a course set up with what looked like a club-type meet going on in a parking lot off of west 16th street, but I was late for a meeting at the time so I couldnt stop to check things out.
They do autocross here after we get about a foot of snow packed down. The crazy Finlanders with the ice studs about an inch long can really put on a show.

I've got a half-crazy (well probably more than just half), ******* uncle who used to race junked-out cars with his buddies on a frozen pond owned by his neighbor a number of years back. One year they tried to race a little early in the season and one of the cars fell through the ice. Come spring time my uncle refused to recover the car, which was now leaking oil and gasoline into the friendly neighbors pond, so the guy informed him if he or his buddies ever set foot on his property again, they'd be staring down the business end of a 12 guage. Fast forward to just about 5 years ago, my uncle was driving home drunk from a bar (regular thing for him) and decided to take a detour accross the friendly neighbors front yard. Turns out the friendly neighbor still remembered the car that was sitting at the bottom of his pond so he unloaded a couple of rounds of shot into the side of my uncles truck (no physical damage to the uncle unfortunately, just damage to the truck). This uncle was a relative by marriage and has since been divorced, but I still see his shot-up truck every now and then when I'm visiting the area and it just makes me laugh.

PAW,
You prepping you CTS..like Tires, heavier sway bars, shocks or tower brace. I think it would help.
Rob,

Naw, its going to stay pretty much stock. This car has understeer like any other GM car. :( I personally like the way the car handles. However, the need for a larger rear sway bar would most likely give it more neutral handling. With that said, its really time consuming to dial in a car.

But, the car came from the factory with a granny style alignment. No negitive camber, no toe in or out..and caster.

So below are my alignment settings that I wanted..However, the car was being a real pain in the butt on the rack and couldn't get the numbers I really wanted. Alignments are really a give and take situation you get so mad you just give up..
Front:
Camber: -1.0*
Toe: -.50
Caster: 5.5*

Rear:
Camber: -1.3*
Toe: -.50*

Actual:
Front
Camber: -1.0
Toe: +.04
Caster 5.5

Rear
Camber: -1.2
Toe: +.02

You can get a nice set of adjustable Eibach sway bars from www.shox.com for $253 + $30 S&H. Combine that with the $80 tower brace you should be ready for the pylons.

What file format is VOB??
Windows Media Player has a CODEC for it, whatever it is.
The person to took this video for me cut the disc in DVD format. Since I had the CODEC I didn't think till after uploading it there might be a problem with people that don't have DVD players on there pc's :banghead:
right click on the link then select "save as". windows media player should be able to play it from your hard drive.

Doc,
You replaced my quote with one of Regals quotes about asssholes in your signature. What does that mean!?
I few guys I work with do autocross pretty regularly, so when I got my '03 CTS, I figured this could be a good, safe place to check out the performance. So here is am in the parking lot, putting painters tape all over the car so I don't damage it with gravel, and get funny looks from everyone who walks by that I could even consider running this thing. Well, let me tell you, I came in 1/2 second behind my buddy's hopped up GTI! Not to mention that I had my A/C on while on the staging line to keep myself cool! It just doesn't get any better!!:)

WMP didn't work for me, but RealPlayer opened it up fine

That looks like so much fun, I wanna do that. Lol

It means I've reached the maximum number of characters allowed in a signature. Posting the wish list there was your influence though so dont feel left out.
