How long does a new center support bearing on the drive shaft last. Is it an easy part that gets worn out fast?

The bearing should last for many years. There are many things that could cause the bearing to wear out sooner than normal.

It's 2-3 hour job that can be done in the driveway, if you're the DIY type. Mine lasted about 160,000kms before needing to be placed (rust belt car though)

How many miles are on your vehicle and where are you located? There's a couple of other things that you might consider replacing at the same time that will make support and your differential bushings last longer.
