Cruise control says not ready when car is running! At speed I press button and nothing happens, not even the cc light in HUD display! Any ideas? 2005 Thanks, Ken

There are multiple things that will cause this error message. The Distance Sensing Cruise Control (DSCC) module signals the Driver Information Center (DIC) when ACC cannot engage due to a temporary condition. The conditions are temporary and do not require service. (Unless they never go away.) If the DSCC transceiver is too hot or the brakes are too hot, this message will appear. It is summer, after all.

The message you don't want to see is "SERVICE RADAR CRUISE". Wait a few ignition cycles and see if the message clears.
