I absolutely cannot handle anything else w/a cord -- I have sometimes 2 phones, plus Garmin plugged in to a car at once.

Is a cordless detector worth getting? Or is the difference in performance enough to say corded or bust?

Sorry about the Snake jungle, but I have never heard anything positive about cordless Radar Detectors. Time to look into hardwiring a V1 for the kind of money Escort commands for theirs.

Sorry guys, I know almost zero about these things.

OK, assuming I had the wiring done, can you still unplug the unit and move between cars? The EXT wouldn't have to be wired, as the NAV is in dash -- I could handle using a power port for that. So I'd just be moving between the Conc and the Eldo, with them hardwired.

And assuming that's yes, doesn't the thing need to be kind of low in the windshield? Where does the cord run, behind the dash?

Negatory! High on the windshield, with the best view out and back(if you have a V1). Run the hard wire power from your dome lights and mount the unit just under the rear view mirror. Unplug the wire when you want to take it down and wrap it around the mirror base...

In my YouTube avatar(as of 02/22/08), you can see the V1 clip. And the wire is wrapped around the mirror base. Throughout all those twists and turns, it stays put...

Are there remote sensors you can put in the back window and the windshield that allow the unit to be put down low (i.e. under the dash)?
