I currently have a 2010 Lexus LS460L AWD. Very different I know to the Cadillac. Although it is a great car in many ways, I am finding it does not meet all my needs. On long drives the seats are not comfortable resulting in backache and despite the claimed legendary low noise levels, I don't actually find it to be as quiet as I had hoped. Maybe I am expecting too much, but the engine is noisy at idle due to the direct injection system (typical for this model if you read the forums), suspension is quite noisy on rough roads which is a characteristic of the air ride on this model and road noise is audible, particularly on concrete pavement. Overall ride on highway is very good and the reliability is excellent as is the overall quality of the interior / exterior.

My question is, have any members made the transition from an LS460 to a XTS or XTS Vsport or otherwise had the opportunity to try both on an extended drive. I am eager to understand how the XTS compares and am lining up to do a test drive in a couple of weeks.

Well I'll tell you without hesitation that if you found the ride on your Lexus to be noisy, etc. and all that goes along with it you won't like the V-Sport with the 20" wheels which notoriously ride harsh and are brittle as well. Do a search on this forum and you will see that's the general consensus.
