It seems like more and more complaining about trivial items appear each day.

If there is anyone on this forum that have anything good to report about their XT5 please list it here.

I will start it off by saying, the XT5 is my first Cadillac and I am 100% satisfied with everything including dealer service.
I like the looks of the XT5, otherwise I would not have purchased it, the interior, how smooth and quiet it rides, all the little features, the instrument panel and specially the CUE, very economically to operate ( 28 to 32 MPG), apple car play, easy to connect my iPhone X, and yeah the bronze dune color.

I am also very pleased with my XT5 and will consider another when the time comes to trade. The styling is superb and Cadillac draws favorable attention on the road and in parking lots.

I have the Platinum and do not see the majority of the complaints others are making. I feel mine is truly deserving of the Cadillac badges.

Performance of the 3.6 LGX along with the 8-speed transmission and AWD is very spirited and smooth. All of the quirks of the SRX I previously owned have been resolved by the 2017 XT5.

That is what people do. They either complain or ask questions. Few just show off what they did or what they are going to do. You also have the occasional Gremlin that thrives on making people mad. You need to ignore the Gremlins. I see the same type on several Forums I belong to because of the different cars I own but they are all the same.

Same here except for the Apple stuff because I don't have an iPhone.

I think forums are about sharing info and for others looking to resolve similar issues with their vehicles, and more than less people tend to share problems so they can get them resolved. I have had some issues with my XT5 but would not have bought it if I was not happy with the way it looks or drives. We have to deal with the unknown once we take possession and sometimes it can be frustrating. I think the XT5 handles great for its size and get compliments on it quite often. I think before I put down $60k+ on another car I will explore all other options because there is newer technology coming out every year and it is changing more frequently then in the past. I'm getting older and my family smaller so probably this is my last SUV of this size and I would be more inclined to look at XT4 size vehicles in the future.

I too, am really happy with my purchase. This is my first Cadillac, after owning many different brands and models of cars previously (including several luxury imports). I love the styling, performance, technology, and features. My only real complaint was with the ability to charge my iPhone X wirelessly, and though I paid to have that fixed (GM should have covered the retrofit IMHO) it works wonderfully now. It performs great around town and on long road trips. I like the way I feel driving it, and the safety features are remarkable. It's even sporty for its size, and I love the hauling ability for shopping, for bikes, for luggage and for golf clubs. Plus it's just plain beautiful and turns heads in parking lots.

I also love that we can come to this forum to share tips and tricks and knowledge and find answers in the shared community that we can't necessarily locate in the manual or via the dealership.

Same here.I spent months looking at comparable vehicles. I ruled out a laundry list of domestic and foreign manufacturers. it came down to the XT5 or the Lincoln MKX. The XT5 won. Very pleased. There's nothing that I don't like about the XT5. 8 months and no issues.

Great thread.
As everyone above already mentioned, stylistically, the XT5 is an excellent-looking crossover, as crossovers go. I think for me, it's the lights and the front end; I just think it looks great going down the road. (Lexus, Audi, Lincoln, sorry, but they don't compare for me, looks-wise) Like everyone else, I've gotten many compliments. I also really, really like the lines of the interior dash and cabin space. I love the panoramic sunroof.
I like the shifter, I know some people don't but I've never had any issues with mine. For an electronic shifter, it's better than push buttons or knobs IMHO (and it almost reminds me of the days when I had a standard. To me, the shifter is kinda "fun")
I find the XT5 to be very nimble in its handling, it does feel confident and capable around tight turns, in less-than-favorable weather, etc. I had a scare a few weeks ago where someone was in my lane, on-coming, and I had to jump out of the way fast.. ready to head for the berm and possibly the ditch, there was no time to think about it. I was able to keep it on the road and steer my way out of it somehow, while the XT5 handled absolutely beautifully in a tricky situation. For what that's worth...

Maybe the title of the thread should have been "No Complaining". :)

I agree with the looks - I love it inside and out. And my dealer service has been excellent - many times better than my local Mercedes-Benz dealer could ever provide even on their best day. I like the handling of the XT5 - it's just sporty enough not to feel like a big clunky truck, but not too harsh. CUE is fine. I always read in car rag review that it was the worst, and that Chrysler's U-Connect was the best. Moving from a Jeep Grand Cherokee with U-Connect to the XT5 with CUE, I don't see the reasons for the complaints. CUE is just as responsive and has pretty much the same features. The NAV voice entry is actually much better in CUE.

Having said that, I think car forums would be quite boring if all people did was post to their praises. In fact, the other forums where I am active are full of member seeking solutions to their problems. About the only time they post "good news" is when they are talking about modifications they've made to improve or customize their cars, or if they just bought one and are excited to show it off. But that's OK, because I hang out there to help people with their problem and learn from others who have solved their problems.

Internet forums are filled with more complaints than praise in almost every aspect. Some are legitimate, some are just nit-picky, some are pure BS. Now, I have a 2018 XT5 Platinum (adriatic blue with maple interior) that is a beauty and strangers comment on it often. It drives well and performs to my expectations of Cadillac. I was very pleased with my purchase from the dealer right to driving it today. I also have a 2014 SRX Luxury that I am pleased with (despite less than average headlighting). Prior to these 2 Cadillacs, I've owned 5 other Caddies. Yes, some of them had some minor irritations here and there, but none of them ever required major repairs beyond normal maintenance. Maybe I'm just lucky. And, yes, I've owned other auto manufacturers vehicles, as well.

Unfortunately, the auto wireless charging does not work with my phone. Not crazy about the auto-stop, but I've grown used to it and no longer bothered by it. I like the shifter, as well, although I still forget which button to push as I drive both cars and they're different on this matter. I love the HUD display and all of the safety feature displays. Heated and cooled seats work very well and I didn't think I'd care for the heated steering wheel, but I love it on those cold mornings! I like the handling and steering of the vehicle, although I wouldn't mind a bit more ummph under the hood (sure do miss the Northstar engines!).

I'm very happy with my 2017 XT5. It's a very comfortable car and we can easily spend 4 or 5 hours driving and still feel refreshed. When traveling from NJ to Florida we often spend 8-10 hours driving with one fuel/food/bathroom break. It gets great gas mileage and looks sharp as well. I'm very happy with the dealer, Gold Coast Cadillac. When you buy a car you also "buy the dealer". I couldn't ask for a better one. I just bought my 5th Cadillac, an XT4, two months ago and we are very happy with this car as well. Have not had problems with the shifter and stop/start is hardly noticeable. In the XT4 it can be turned off but we seldom do.

Interesting, can you compare the two for us? What you like or dislike compared to the other?
The XT4 rides much like the XT5. We took it on a 3 hour drive the week after we purchased it and aside from the smaller size and a somewhat noisier engine the cars were very similar. The XT4 seems to be a bit quicker probably because the torque curve begins at 1500 rpm and maxes out at 258 at 4000 rpm. This is where most driving takes place and thus feels like it has more zip. The XT5 torque maxes out at 271 at 5000 rpm. There are more buttons on the XT4 for just about every function; once your preferences are set up in CUE there isn't much interaction. There are two controls on the console that make it easier to control the infotainment at well.

I don't like where the USB ports are located in the front of the console. When the phone is in the holder (similar to the XT5) the wire runs across the console or you can lay the phone down in the covered space provided but it just lays there haphazardly. I put it in one of the, for lack of a better term, mapholders on each side of the console. This is where the XT5 has the big open space. The new CUE is nice but I don't have a problem with my XT5 CUE. The XT4 updates automatically which doesn't happen with the XT5.
The back seats don't recline or move back and forth and there is less cargo room in the back. This is my wife's car for local trips, shopping etc. The XT4 uses Premium gas but that's not a big deal. This car replaced a Buick Lacrosse that got terrible around town mileage so my gas costs are about the same. Overall I'm very pleased with both cars.

I did forget to mention that the stop/start is seamless in both cars. We can turn it off in the XT4 but rarely do so. Cadillac has done a great job with s/s. I have a friend with a Mercedes and he hates their version of it. He can turn it off but when he forgets the whole car shudders on stop and then again on start. I was in an S class Mercedes in Amsterdam and the driver complained every time we stopped as the whole car shook.

Also, even though the XT4 is smaller we had two adults in the back for a short trip and they said it wasn't bad back there. I sat in the back and it was comfortable.

I am very pleased with our vehicle....We had a 13 SRX before the XT5. The only annoyance is the slight rumble or lack of smoothness when the car goes into 4cylinder mode. Aside from that it has been great.

I liked the cue in the U drive I had. I did not get the mileage you were getting though.
