I purchased my XT5 in June, hence when I noticed cold air emanating from the wireless phone charger area and having my phone be cold, I assumed it was due to the powerful A/C. However, now that I am cranking the heat, I still notice very cold air STILL coming the console area, I can feel it blowing through the wireless charger slot. Anyone else have this situation ? Is it normal ? If it is normal, then why ?

I have the exact same situation happening to me, will be investigated at my next service at dealership.
I too was thinking this is perfect for Samsung Note...

Love it ...since I do have a Samsung phone ! That's probably the answer the service manager will give me ! Plan to have it checked at next service ...but my experience has been that service is less than adequate unless they have specific instructions and guidance from GM/Cadillac

Today I notice the same thing as it was -3 °F outside (-22 °F with wind factor). Lot of cold air from the wireless charging area and after 1 hour driving the console still remain very cold on each side and armrest. It seems they forgot to put some insulation/isolation under the front console ! Will bring this problem on my next visit to my dealer next Monday.

Thanks for the video link ...I kind of thought this might be it. I'm feeling it more because, the heat is on with New England winters, and I removed the rubber pad on the charging dock because it was not recognizing my phone well.

OK, how do you shut off the active phone (and right arm) cooling???
Please identify the vehicle year and model you are asking about. BTW, XT5 does not have phone cooling. As I recall, SRX had a form of drink cooking in the cupholder area and one vehicle I had would cool canned drinks in the glove compartment.

You can direct the air for the rearseat HVAC to the floor vents away from the top of the console area. Those vents are a separate path all the way from the front heating ducts.

You may need to set the direction each time you drive depending on model year. My 2017 would default with the rear HVAC off and my 2020 defaults with the rear HVAC on. In Auto mode, the air is directed to both top and bottom so the direction will need to be changed with each drive.

Nope! warm air coming out of rear vents as it should with heat on, but still very cold air coming from phone charging area that changes with fan speed.

Don't have an SRX. Still have a 2018 XT5 that blows cold air out of phone charging area, with heat coming out of rear vents and changes with fan speed.
