I bought a 2008 Escalade Base with 69k on it last year. For awhile now I have been hearing a clicking/tapping noise as I drive at about 1-20ish mph. (Usually hear it with window down pulling up to military gate) For the life of me I can’t figure out what it is, it doesn’t sound like the engine because you only hear it when the car is rolling, and there is no noticeable click at any particular RPM when the car is stopped. Was wondering if anyone has had a little odd noise like this as I would love to eliminate whatever this problem is before my deployment so my wife can have peace of mind her car is going to drop dead while I’m gone.

i'd get it on a jack and check the hubs on the front wheels. it doesn't have that many miles, but it
is 11 years old.
I’m gonna give it a looksee, am I seeing if the hub is beginning to back away from the cv axle?

Something in your tire? Big rocks in tread can make a tapping sound
And I wish it was that easy, funny thing though careened my other caddy into the dirt off highway today and had rocks between the tire and wheel>< my wheel must of dug in so deep it was buried momentarily xD

Pop the center caps off and try again. Did you get your tires rotated or changed lately? The caps need to be positioned correctly or the inner spring snap ring is broke/loose.
I did actually just have a flat repaired and before that I notice that my hub caps do spin freely but stay on, could that be the problem, and if so are they pretty easy to remove without breaking them if they aren’t already broken?
