So I drive my car through a touchless carwash saturday... Looked good to me till my buddy was checking out my car and noticed the clearcoat was starting to peel above the passenger door windows! its about a 6" area thats already peeled. Is this a problem anyone else has had? THis car is still new! its only got about 5k miles on it!:want:

The clear coat peeled from the rear bumper on mine after it was refinished by the selling dealer because of pre-sales damage. The local dealer had it refinished again and it now looks perfect. Take yours back to the dealer and give him an opportunity to make it right.

My clear coat didn't peel, but the paint flaked off the trunk in the lower right and left corners where the plastic license plate bezel thingy meets the metal trunk deck.

The dealer repainted the entire rear deck / trunk for free. Your dealer should take care of this problem, no questions asked.

can they fix this without repainting the whole panel? My car is black, and I'm not really liking the idea of having it painted or having it all taken apart to be painted. Can they just spot fx it or something? This car is really turning out to be a hassle, and I'm starting to think I should just drive it for the 30 months and not get anything fixed and they can deal with it all once the lease is up...

It shouldnt be a hassle for you, since its warranty work they should give you a free rental while they fix it (at least thats what they do at the dealer I go to). As for the spot fix, they dont usually do that with clearcoat. Thats why most touch-up paints are so hard to match, some colors look different depending on whether or not it has clearcoat over it. I'd say take it back to the dealer and have them fix it, otherwise its going to irritate you every time you see it.
