I use a cassette adapter on my bose radio to listen to my ipod and satellite radio. It started saying "Clean Cassette" recently, does anyone know what proper steps I need to take to clean the thing? Just any plain jane cassette cleaner from radio shack?

Hello...

There is really no need to actually clean the heads if you just use the cassette adapter for ipod or xm. Since you are not playing an actual tape, there is no tape residue on the heads. The adapter just converts a line level signal into a magnetic signal that the tape heads can play.
Just clear the "clean" message.
You can use the cassette cleaner described in the manual, but you'll still have to clear the message.

That's what I was assuming.

How do I go about clearing the message from the radio?

Hello...

The "clean tape" message will appear after every 50 hours of operation.
Push and hold the "eject" button for 3-5 seconds to clear the message.

What kind of satellite radio do you use?

Thanks I'll try holding eject.

I have had Sirius for 1.5 years now, absolutely love it.
