Anyone have this issue? The chrome is peeling from the seam of the door handle. My wife cut her finger on it last night on the passenger door handle because of it.:mad2:

They are factory and shared with the STS. It is covered under your warrenty. Dealers know about the issue . I have had both mine replaced already by the dealer free of charge.

Yeah, mine is at the dealership right now getting the handle replaced and the passenger lower lumbar looked at. I also am having them check the Driver headlight alignment as it is facing the ground.

I want to know what was wrong with chrome plating a metal door handle like my old 1991. I've seen lots of cars with plastic "chrome plated" door handles shedding the chrome part to reveal ugly yellow plastic. IMO its a cheap ass cop out for one of the parts of the car you end up touching the most.

^ I should rephrase that I see this defect on a lot of different make/model cars, not just the STS.

Same thing happened on my 2007 GMC Sierra. Both front door handles replaced under warranty. When it peels off, the edges left are rough and actually cut my finger once.
