T'WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHANUKKAH ....
and all thru the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even our mouse
The Menorah was set in the window aglow,
and its beams cast out on the new fallen snow!
Though Sandy was sleepingnono: ), I'm willing to bet,
that he is dreaming of the presents he'll getyup: ),
A new bike, model cars, sports car, a Jeep,
a new watch, some golf clubs some clothes, nuttin cheap!
The goodies 'n gadgets this holiday brings,
are awaited each year by Jewish offsprings...
I was lying in bed, almost asleep,
when the screeching of brakes brought me to my feets!
I peeked out the window as sly as one can,
and right then I saw him..." THE CHANUKKAH MAN " !!![]()
now, the Chanukah Man is known to both girls and boys,
as the one who's responsible for the Caddies & the Toys !![]()
He travels all over with stuff in his sack,
but instead of a sled, he drives a new Cadillac !
He got out of his Caddy, still beaming with pride,
from the bargains he'd gotten on New York's Lower East Side.
There were games, toys and clothes, a frisky new puppy and even a bunny,
and of course, best of all, the Chanukkah MONEY!
He glanced at his car, as he turned on his heels,
and smugly admired his chrome plated wheels.
But, ye must be aware that into a SACK, he cannot get,
MY NEW CADILLAC! He caught me at the window and said,
"So what the hey...I'll just leave in your big driveway" :bouncy:  :woohoo:
He picked up his sack, a converted golf bag,
which he threw on his shoulder, with a grunt & a drag,
marching into the house, he emptied his goods, so
he could refill the sack, with his irons & woods.
Again I could see the pride on his face, as he checked all
the goods, and put them in place.
After munching the chopped liver crackers, and a sip from our bar,
he returned to his car, for he knew that tomorrow he'd have to drive far.
With his Chanukkah chores now outtathe way,
he could head for Maimi, for some warm sun & play.
...as he started his car, I called out "SHALOM" - have a safe trip,
and hurry back home.
and as he drove off, these words came to ear,
"it's no big deal, I go every year" ~
... and I heard him exclaim as he raced outta sight,
Happy Chanukkah to all and to all a
GOOD NIGHT!

LMAO :rofl:DopeStar 156 said:Speaking of which, it should be about that time my colligues and myself like to call "Mall Christmas." Ya know when you go to the mall and J.C.Penny, Macy's, Lord and Taylor, and Sears have whipped out the plastic Christmas Trees and the tassles and the entire mall is covered in tinsel and the Santa's Lap thing is partially set up? Haha fun mischief times for me and my pals the Mall Rats that we are! Nothing's funnier than sending a whole nativity scene up the escalator one person at a time.
My Grandmother was about 5' 1" and her mother (who I was also privileged to know) was 4' 10" but they both were very tall on the inside!Sandy said:My Mom was small 5 foor 1 inch. She and others were stuffed into garbage cans, with holes punched in the bottom and loaded onto a garbage trunk that carried them past check points & out of Germany. That's how she got out. Larger children were left behind to be gassed. When she finally got out of Mexico & into America (New Mexico) she'd beg for food, or go into garbage cans to find food. When she got a job as a maid, those people fed her.
I don't know the accepted Jewish outlook regarding the Messiah - like I said I am not real religious, just a little.
Regarding Greandparents. I had none. They were gassed in Germany, all but one, that was shot trying to escape. I have no idea, nor feelings of what culture it is and/or related feeling are for grandparents. Void. Blank. Empty.
I haven't seen that movie yet. I take them very personally, it's hard for me to watch. Two that I regard highly are "Schindler's List" and "It's a Beautiful Life". It's very rare for me to get through those without drying my eyes.Sandy said:Interesting. Alot of survivors here in America are likewise speaking out. There alot of hate groups (KKK, Aryan Nations, New World Order) to name but 3 of at least 6, who are saying it's all a big lie and that it never happened. These people are speaking out to prove it's all truth. The bigger worry is what will happen in 25 years ? It's estimated tht in 10 years they will all be dead. Then What? No "voices" to say YES, it did happen !! No voice to oppose the lies.
Rent the DVD of last years #1 award winning movie "The Pianist" Watch it to the bitter end, when the credits roll, watch the Thank Yous. Look at #3.
Yes thank you, i couldn't agree more.Kev said:I realize that this thread has moved somewhat off topic and is "stretching the envelope" in regards to forum rules. My thanks to the Moderators and Administrators for your indulgence in allowing it to continue.
