I have no idea why the Jewish faith did not embrace Jesus as the Messiah.
I can, however make a very good (somewhat) guess.
I think that if one is waiting for the arrival of the Messiah, that it's accepted that you will be judged on judgment day, that therefore being the arrival of the Messiah. Wanting all that it good & right & proper & Just for thineself & family andextended family, we are good in anticipation of the arrival.
Should we accept Jesus as the Messiah then the Messiah has in fact arrived and ..... LETS PARTY, Wine Women and and and.....
Now, I am NOOoooo very religious person, who studies Torah. I am way overstepping my bounds, herein.
Now to totally blow your mind !!
There is a recent break-away faction, called Jews-For-Jesus. They are people who now believe that Jesus was in fact, The Messiah. They believe that our religion can continue & prosper even IF we accept HIM.
Who are these people? Well, no, they are not crack pots or fools or freaks, many of them are very learnerd, wealthy corporation & business owners !
MOST of what you might call the "non believers" ~ look upon them as a freak side show. I don't. But, I do see the point that with the acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah, then there is very very very little distinction between our two religions.....
Now, your asking me this question would be akin to asking my wife, Karen to properly explain the purpose of a rear differential in a car. Dig ?
