When I installed my Lingenfelter CAI I found this surprise in the stock air box! Any thought on how this could happen About 4500 miles on car when this mess was found. Only time it has been off road was parking at Kentucky Speedway and thats at 5-10 mph, have not used to cut grass.

HOLY $HIT

Did you notice the engine bogging down at all or any performance issues before you discovered this? Almost looks like a rodent made your air box his home haha

No rat crap or anything like something was nesting, just grass packed against the filter upper edge. The grass is sucked up on top side of housing not on the bottom like a nest, really weird.

guys,

this is a nest from the very rare bird, scientific name; flyius intakius.
this bird has been known to favor Ls6 engines due to there sweet sound and ability to attract the female species. PLEASE CHECK ALL YOUR BOXES ASAP!!!!

Well,IMO I think you have many neighbors that are to lazy to bag their grass and blow it into the street so you can suck it up with your 50,000 hoover.

I have had the very same experience. Daily driver and all. A mouse installed an elaborate nest between the engine and the intake manifold.
It must have been over some period of time. Nearly had to disassemble the whole top end to clean it up. My greatest concern was fire.
Get some moth balls. Please them on every flat surface in the area. No more grass. True experience. The moth balls were entirely effective.

I'm kind of messing everybody up by the photos I took. The grass is at the top of the air box not the bottom. The box would not set on the bench in the proper angle for the photo. I do live in a very small town that people do blow grass out into the street and I just paved 800' of my drive a few months after I got the V but sucking it up of the road? I mean guys bitch about the sound from their CAI the stock would be making some sounds if it was sweeping the street
