I own a 2004 Cadillac Deville, my check engine light reads PO41O. I think this is a secondary air pump problem? Where is the secondary air pump located? And what things should I check to hopefully resolve this problem? Thank You
The AIR pump is located on the LF corner of the subframe. It probably needs to be replaced. Drop the lower splash shield and the front wheel house splash shield to access it. Be advised, there is a mounting bolt located on the backside that is only accessed by the Braille method and and extension and universal joint if I remember correctly.
I located the Air pump, I took it off checked it, its working fine. Although I still have a engine check light. How do I go about checking the check valve?
Thank You, Ranger. I also disconnected the battery to reset the code but it comes right on. Its a hard code.
I checked the FSM and there is a long list of possibilities for that DTC. The first is certain inputs from the O2 sensors. The rest seem to pertain to air flow, pinched hoses or check valve malfunctions. You might check all the air lines and vacuum hoses as well as electrical connections.
