It's OBDII so stop at any major auto parts store and they will read it for free and clear (if its not a hard code). :thumbsup:

Let's move this to the proper forum..........

and your car has its own built-in code reader/scanner system. Use the sticky post just above this in the Deville forum - "How to pull codes". Study and use the proper year/car group for OBD-II. --------hang on ........

the check engine light only illuminates when there is a problem -
so - you don't want to simply shut it off -
you need to find out WHY the light came on -

and you don't need to take your car anywhere to read the codes -
you have a built-in scanner - so you can do it yourself -

to check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes -
