New here, did a quick search but didn't find what I was looking for.

I have a new to me '99 Deville. Currently it is sitting with Jake to get the stud kit done. Once I get it back one of things I want to do to it is to change the fuel filter.

Is there a Coles Notes version of how to do this? Where is it located? Do I need a special tool for the fuel line? Is there a pressure reset switch or anything like that I need to hit before / after changing the filter? Is it a special Cadillac part or should I be able to get it at the local autoparts store?

I plan on getting the shop manual but haven't got the far yet.

Thanks in advance.

Jason.

There is no set service interval on the large fuel filter. There's a hex and a quick connect, located usually up in the left frame rail near the rear door area.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. (unless you have fuel delivery problems, let well enough alone......)
