what steps should i take when changing a lower hose so that it all goes well. Iam thinking about just emptying the radiator and flushing it first, because it needs to be flushed bad anyway. And is there anything else i should do while iam at it?

nothing major, flush the system, drain the system, replace the hose and clamps, refill with 50/50 coolant mix and a GM coolant additive tab as per the enclosed instructions.
Depending on the mileage, I would probably change ALL hoses as a "preventive" measure.

If you cant get the hose off, just cut it and then you can pick it off...... Unless you have a hose remover (kinda looks like a screwdriver with no head bent 90*)...... If you dont have one of those, get one.... They are very handy.......

well it turns out it wasnt the hose, the thing the hose goes on(on the engine side) seems to be cracked. So its back to the shop, great timing to, my rims just came today.
