Hi,

I have a 2008 ESV, with factory navigation, and the six disc player.

Bought the ESV new in January 2009. Used the CD player only a couple of times. Mostly listen to XM.

Put my new BoDeans CD into the player. This is a factory made CD, not a burned one. Played it a couple of times, now it will not play, nor can I eject the CD.

Any suggestions??

Alien is right, pull the Radio Fuse, then put it back in and eject the CD/DVD. Happens to me sometimes with burned DVDs, seems like the player is picky on the CD/DVD media. Rebooting the device (by pulling the fuse) is the only way to eject it.

It happened to my 2003, I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and it ejected, make sure your sound system and HVAC are turned off before disconnecting the battery.

Re: Update: CD Player Will Not Eject

Took my '08 ESV to the dealer. They tried to reprogram the CD player with the updated software. Did not work.

The dealer ordered a replacement unit, I thought it would be just the CD player. It comes as entire unit including the navigation, radio, etc.

Replaced under warranty (whew), the whole unit was a couple of thousand dollars. Works fine now.

There is a software update to address this issue for some model years.
The radio memory has to be reset first.
I have had mixed results, some make it, some don't.

Yes it is part of the entire nav/radio which will have to be replaced if it does not recover.

I'll try that tonight and let you know what happens...thx Play. You wouldn't happen to have a service manual on digits would you? Or know where the clips are located on the panel so i can access the CD changer?

This just happened on our 08 esv. While listening to a cd, it suddenly stopped working. Then we tried ejecting which didn't work and also tried loading to a different CD which didn't work. Then we tried loading a new cd into a new slot and that didn't work. We just had the unit replaced from a theft claim a few months back and our normal factory warranty is up. Any suggestions fellas?
