It's time to replace the front 245/40-19 tires and I'd like some more width up front to better balance the 285 rears. Has anyone strayed from CCW's recommendations?

If you are at stock ride height, I would say that 255/35r19 would most likely fit fine without any rubbing. But, based on my experience with a lowered V, I have the 245/40r19s in front and it sure doesn't seem like I have any room at all for a bigger tire. Sorry, I wish I had something more concrete to tell you.

I don't think you have any other options outside of a 245/40 and a 255/40. In terms of tire height, however, the 245s are superior, as the difference in ride height is smaller with the 245s than with the 255s (.07 difference for the 245s vs. .09 for the 255s).

That's the trouble with running staggered tires, while trying to maintain the same height--few options!!

I say, add flares, widen the rims, and go 315s in the rear, with 275s in the front!:)
