I presume that the cam you are running is pretty mild, do you know the specs?

Also how usable the 0.50 6th gear with the 3.07 Omega V8 diff?

Since I'm going to be using a T56 as well, I'm looking into a numerically higher gear for the diff.
I read on the Australien Holden forums that around 2001 the Holden BTR diff internals were changed
when they got bought out by Dana (BTR was Borg Warner's Australian subsidiary). So apparantly
the later internals from the GTO will not work; so I'll have to order the older gears from Australia.
I have not been able to confirm yet if our Omega diffs are of the older style but I beleive they are
becuase the newer ones do not have BTR Automotive cast into them.
The cam is mild but I do not know the specs. 5th is very usable, 6th ok above 60. I started out with a 3.9 catera diff (blew it up) and installed the 3.07 v8 diff. I would recommend a 3.5-3.7 ratio. I have also been trying to find out if GTO guts fit in the BTR units. fred

He hasn't logged in for 7 years and the few STSi cars are all in private collections, not able to be registered in the U.S. due to emissions and lighting.

Thank you Submariner409. I am only interested in the cars that are EU-homologated - easy to register here in Europe obviously. On the other hand the ones in private US collections will be road-legal (in the US) 25 years after manufacture so in another 2-3 years. And then I would imagine that their value will rise substantially. I saw that Barrett-Jackson sold one of the EU-types in 2013 for $7k but I have not been able to locate the buyer. I would appreciate any help you might be able to offer. Thank you again.

What info do you have on build numbers? I thought there were 5, 6, or 7 built, probably not enough for homologation.

(as in: Ferrari GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato)) - the real GTO.

.......... and several others in CF.

Sorry I am using homologation in the single type-approval sense. Those 5-7 cars were built to EU standards and not MVSS standards (EU lighting; EU tail lamps; side markers; front license plate bracket; EU exhaust; metric instrumentation; EU radio frequencies etc etc) which would make it easy to get a car registered in the EU with few if any changes needed to make it road legal immediately. I did not mean in the sense of a factory-built grand touring cars that could also engage in competitive races. Thank you for the article.
