Welcome back! I’m in the process of building my own Catera V http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-catera-cimarron-forum/130818-cant-wait.html
What Kit car are you building? Any pictures of the progress?
Hi, I looked thru your thread, you are making good progress. It is a complicated build. Send me your email and I can send along some other build detail shots. Elvin has quite a few on his site. As you know I did not build mine. It was built for a friend of mine, but I followed the build and helped Lingenfelter get some info from Opel while I was at GM. The kit you have was what GM got from Opel when they were considering a V8 Catera. Lingenfelter purchased the kits because he planed to build more cars. He moved on to the CTS builds because they were easier. I think my car is the only one they built. John passed away shortly after my car was completed. It was initially built with an LS-6. Later redone with the C5R-427.-Attached are a few more pictures including the kit car. Fred

So I have been following this car from the very begining, and I remember seeing those first pictures when it still had the nylon wrappers on the seats and MR. L taking it for a run... and I have been wondering what the cost is so far,...

Brand new Catera... ~38K +/- GM Discounts... then the motor... all the other parts... has it hit 50K yet?

I think that we can all agree that Catera-Vs car is the god of all cateras... I mean just look at the picture below if you don't believe me...

Well here are both of our cars together...

Fred thank you for providing me with the opportunity to see your car in person, I was amazed and I think I still am dazzled over its beauty...

I guess if you have one of those annoying neck pains you can either go to physical therapy or....

... you can get one of these and you can exercise those neck muscles with your right foot, just be careful because if your neck is not strong enough the G forces from the acceleration will cause even more pain...

I think that just about explains what kind of a monster that car is... ohh and did I mention that you can do that while in the comfort of your 4 buddies with the AC on...

I got some inspirations form your car and now I need to find me some new springs and some new spacers for my front wheels... the lower offset wheels make the catera look very mean, and I like that...

Hope we can do a get together soon in one of the local parks...
Anyone interested (MI, OH, IN)?

Why an L S 1 Just get an buick G N 3.2 Punch the out buy 30 mm new waste gate and a new intercooler bigger meaner turbo punch block out to 40 mm new crank from G M performance less work and 504 ponies easy
Not an LS1-C5R based LS-7. Turbo buick would be a good package but probably just as difficult to do.-fred

I presume that the cam you are running is pretty mild, do you know the specs?

Also how usable the 0.50 6th gear with the 3.07 Omega V8 diff?

Since I'm going to be using a T56 as well, I'm looking into a numerically higher gear for the diff.
I read on the Australien Holden forums that around 2001 the Holden BTR diff internals were changed
when they got bought out by Dana (BTR was Borg Warner's Australian subsidiary). So apparantly
the later internals from the GTO will not work; so I'll have to order the older gears from Australia.
I have not been able to confirm yet if our Omega diffs are of the older style but I beleive they are
becuase the newer ones do not have BTR Automotive cast into them.
