That's Fred Wood's legendary Catera V by Lingenfelter with a 427 ci Chevy V8, 6 speed Tremec Manual Trans, huge brakes all around, beefed up suspension and Irmscher wheels. Search the archives for more. In the meantime here are some pictures of it I've stolen.Looks nice! What do you have done to it?
Hi, I looked thru your thread, you are making good progress. It is a complicated build. Send me your email and I can send along some other build detail shots. Elvin has quite a few on his site. As you know I did not build mine. It was built for a friend of mine, but I followed the build and helped Lingenfelter get some info from Opel while I was at GM. The kit you have was what GM got from Opel when they were considering a V8 Catera. Lingenfelter purchased the kits because he planed to build more cars. He moved on to the CTS builds because they were easier. I think my car is the only one they built. John passed away shortly after my car was completed. It was initially built with an LS-6. Later redone with the C5R-427.-Attached are a few more pictures including the kit car. FredWelcome back! I’m in the process of building my own Catera V http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-catera-cimarron-forum/130818-cant-wait.html
What Kit car are you building? Any pictures of the progress?
Dyno run at Lingenfelter-460hp at the rear wheels. LS6 heads ported by Lingenfelter-LS-6 intake.Did you ever dyno your car? Are you running the LS6 243 heads?
You don't really want to know. Engine is 25 K The car was at Lingenfelters 16 months. lol-fredSo I have been following this car from the very begining, and I remember seeing those first pictures when it still had the nylon wrappers on the seats and MR. L taking it for a run... and I have been wondering what the cost is so far,...
Brand new Catera... ~38K +/- GM Discounts... then the motor... all the other parts... has it hit 50K yet?
Not an LS1-C5R based LS-7. Turbo buick would be a good package but probably just as difficult to do.-fredWhy an L S 1 Just get an buick G N 3.2 Punch the out buy 30 mm new waste gate and a new intercooler bigger meaner turbo punch block out to 40 mm new crank from G M performance less work and 504 ponies easy
It is a cut down CTS-V grill.absolutely love that grille..
It was probably expensive as hell being an CTS V grille but in person it looks stunning, and for some reason I really dig that indented look of the actual grill... its different and very unique in its own way.It is a cut down CTS-V grill.
Great minds....It is a cut down CTS-V grill.
