The motor is in the process of being rebuilt. Debating whether or not to have the carb rebuilt as well. As I look at the number on the carb, everything looks correct except for the last digit. The number on the carb is 7028231. According to the last digit, Odd numbers would be for a Manual trans car. Personally, I didn't think they made a Manual Cadillac in 1968, but I don't know that much cars, so I am probably wrong.
The question I have, is there an issue with having this carb on my Cadillac?
If so, any ideas where I might be able to find correct one?

Talk to the guys at www.allcarbs.com.

If the engine uses a Rochester Quadrajet get the paperback book published by HP and Doug Roe - "Rochester Carburetors". Amazon.

that is the factory carburetor for a '68 Cadillac. The "1" may be a "7". As you know Cadillac never had a stick tranny in the 60s.

Yes, get the Doug Roe or get the Cliff Ruggles book. I have the Cliff Ruggles book because he sells the top quality rebuilt kits and hard to find parts and has a forum for questions.
