There seems to be an undue amount of carbon (soot) at the exhaust tips. Nevertheless, the car runs very well, and averages 26 mpg on the highway (via dash info). I generally run 89 Octane, but ocassionally blend in 5 to 10 gallons of 91. I also use BG44 K or a similar additive about every 3000 miles.

Any "tips?"

Thank you,
Mike

Its part of life..... You will want to clean those off..... The only other thing would be is if the car is running really rich, but you says it gets 26mpg so your getting good mileage..... Brake cleaner does a really good job....

89?? The manual says dont use anything less than 91!!!! Maybe that part of the problem.....
