Like the title says, my 2005 CTS 3.6 whines when the engine is cold. It only whines at 2300 RPM and is clearly from the engine. Any ideas on what it could be? I took it to the dealer and had it sit overnight so they can lok at it in the morning, and of course when the dealer started it in the morning there was no whining. The car has just shy of 90k on it and has no other known problems. Thanks in advance guys.

Sure you didnt buy a V with a Maggie?

Check the power steering. It can whine when its low on fluid.

mine does this too, power steering fluid is at a proper level. im thinking it might be the pump.

so i checked the PS fliud level and it was at the full mark when cold. any other ideas?
