Hi, I am resurrecting this thread for a couple of reasons - (a) it's exactly the problem I'm having now and (b) I'm not sure it was completely resolved (beaten to death

).
I have a 2011 CTS without passive entry, and my passenger door will not open from the inside or out. I'm pretty sure it's the actuator (part# 22862245), and have ordered that, but right now my dilemma is that neither the inside nor outside handle will open the door, even though it is unlocked (seems to lock and unlock based on the movement of the plunger lock indicator on the door sill).
The OP seemed to be having trouble getting the door unlocked, but I think the door opened for him once he got it unlocked. I can't open the door, and therefore can't remove my trim panel.
@HurstGN, you said the inside handle is physically attached via cable to the mechanism - which mechanism, the electronic actuator, or the actual latch?
I'm going to try getting into the door internals when I get home, and see if I can get to a cable that I can pull on and get the door to open. I'll post what I find, but just hoping someone else has had the same problem and figured it out already.
As an aside, I'm also pretty annoyed that this is a known safety issue on these '08-13 CTS (door not opening from inside seems very unsafe to me), and yet it hasn't been the subject of a recall or TSB as far as I know.
Thanks!
