We have been in consultation with a legal firm regarding the filing of a Class Action suit against General Motors for the widespread vibration problems with the Seville. Cadillac purchasers have a reasonable expectation that their vehicle will drive at highway speeds without this vibration.

We are advised that it would be advantageous if the cause(s) of the problem was / were known. If the problem is due to a design or manufacturing flaw this would apply to all vehicles and all owners and could make the case viable.

If anyone on the board is aware of the root cause of the problem please let us know. From a personal perspective I am not aware of any other automobile that requires such attention paid to tire balancing (i.e. road force balancing of warmed up tires). Even these extreme measures are not usually successful in eliminating the vibration. It would seem there is an underlying mechanical problem which is not present on any other vehicle we are aware of.

Do any other Cadillac models experience this problem and if so what is the commonality between all of these models.

Thank you,

Dave

I read some reviews about the 2000+ DeVilles having a vibration problem. Somebody claimed it was the "trans axle" but I don't know if this was a correct assumption or not.

To find it, you'll have to surf through this site and read all the reviews. Maybe these people are good contacts? Hope this helps.
