I took it to a local event yesterday. There were hundreds of cars there. I will say that the comments of "wow that is a Blackwing" was very common followed by "I like it way better than the CTS-V", as well as "I like how understated it is". Personally I love the CTS-V as I wanted to buy one but I was too late to the party. However with a BW now, I could not be happier. I met another BW owner who is on this forum too! Bonus! He is a 6-Speed guy! I hope he and I can meet up for a photo shoot soon! Birds fly together right?! It was very fitting that I just happened to be parked next to the car that inspired my car interests as a kid. Oh and a CT4V Blackwing from my dealership was next to me.

Let's be honest every owner of a car that they enjoy will prob be bias.

IMO :)

CTS V 2nd 3rd gen looks amazing

Ct6v BW looks amazing(ya I own it I'm biad for sure)

CT5v BW looks amazing

All three have there own perks and downsides.

You can't really tune the CT6v BW or ct5 BW so def say the CTS V wins there cause I've seen some with over 1k HP so that's gona smoke our cars.

Anyway love your car and best color imo.

I laughed a bit, the bmw aint much better, the merc I would consider a bit better and same with audi. However, every one of them will have problems and gremlins right off the bat… all of mine have. Just hope the cadi is trouble free and youre way ahead.

Deeeznuts nice name

I ment in respect to materials and quality of the interior. Not problems or issues the vehicles have.

IMO Blackwings look way better then bmw/benz/audi.

In my experience if you own a Blackwing Caddy they will treat u like gold and fix any issues u have.

The only issue I've had in 4 years so far is the brembro breaks squealing a bit, dealer replaced them free under warranty. My first set of tires went bald at 10k kilometers not miles, also replaced under warrant as per unnatural wear and tear but thats AWD and having fun driving. My battery just got a notification on the dash to charge it, dealer replaced under warranty. Otherwise flawless

I totally agree that this is a very special car and I plan to keep mine forever. In fact, I never imagined myself at a Caddy delearsihp until II jumped from a deposit on an M3 to the BW as it is compelling at any price (within reason) due to the combo of manual and V8.

It just feels like a missed opportunity for both owners and GM to offer an upgraded interior package. Deez, I have to disagree regarding comparison, even BMW has soft touch plastics and leather in more places. Never mind Audi or Volvo, which IMO set the standard for th segment.

Didn't the C7 Corvette offer such a package?

The 2019 and 2020 CT6es were drop dead gorgeous and a 2019 Sport was at the top of my shopping list back in 2021 but alas only one came on the market and it had been a smoker's car so my compromise is the CT5-V (am on a waiting list for a BW). While I would have been thrilled with the CT6, the truth is that the rear seats of my cars don't see too many passengers anymore so the extra length of the CT6 would have been lost on me. Still, it's size helps the CT6 pull off the current Cadillac styling extraordinarily well.

Well after well over a year since I visited this thread I have some updates. I received allocation Sept 2022 after 15 months of waiting, my 5V Blackwing was built before Thanksgiving in October and has been at the factory ever since.

Almost 5 months since it was built and it hasn't been shipped. I finally got an EDD January 7th for April 6th and my dealer confirmed yesterday it is still showing as an April 6th EDD. If this holds true the car will be delivered 6 months after it was built and this entire saga will be 22 months long from when I placed a deposit.

I have no idea why GM can't ship vehicles out of Lansing in a timely manner, this is my biggest gripe. My dealer is within 2 hours of the border and a roughly 4 hour drive from the factory so it isn't distance related. Hell my dealer had their last '22 delivered to them in November and the car was built in March and allocated in January of last year! 7 months for them to get their last 5BW shipped to them.

I can't wait until this is over, the delivery times are just ridiculous.

I will say this again, your Dealer sucks!

My car mustve been your twin, it was allocated beginning of Sept and Built end of Oct. I told the Dealer I didnt want it delivered in Jan, Feb or Mar… they said “Let us make some calls”… Car was delivered, by itself, to Ontario on Dec 6.

Some Dealers either dont know how or just dont care.

Did you have an EDD before or were you waiting all this time for one?

@Sleipnyr The 5BW can be modified. Tapout Tuning is presently working on it and has achieved so far 702 whp without ECU tuning and no issues or codes. There is a thread on the **************** forum If anyone is interested

I did not have an EDD beforehand. Car was built before Thanksgiving and I was at Bayed status with EDD saying Delayed until January 7th when I finally got an EDD of April 6th.

I actually got an email this afternoon that my car was accepted for shipping and the EDD is today! My dealer closes at 5 but they told me they will send me pictures and video when they can. It may show up this evening so I probably won't get any further confirmation that it was delivered until Monday.

Finally received it at my home today. The car is absolutely gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice, especially the ones on the Build & Price website. Absolutely better looking than an M5, if only because it is more interestingly styled, and this coming from a previously die hard German car guy. Certainly better looking than that new M3 abomination.

I waffled for a while on my choices of colour for exterior, interior, and calipers but so happy with all of my choices.

Now the 6 week countdown to being able to actually drive it!

Looking forward to our GTA meetup in the spring.

Six weeks? Whereabouts do you live? I'm hoping to spring my CT5-V from its shackles in four weeks. Fingers crossed...
