I’ve read a lot of people trash the cooler as useless. But was wondering if I bought the cooler unit if it would plug in to my non platinum Escalade? I know it would require removing the center counsel to install, but would it be possible? Would the harness from the existing center console match up to the one with the cooler? I was just curious? Probably won’t do it after reading how many people hated it and said it doesn’t work.

Interesting question. I know there’s a switch next to the cigarette lighter to turn it on and off. I’d assume you would need that as well.

Yes, you can add it but it’s not an easy install. Requires the right harness and the right console with the button. Requires removing the seats and center console. You can buy the harness, cooler and console for about $130 on eBay. I’m installing one soon.

Have you installed it yet? I have a 2016 and I want to also see about swapping out the rca jacks for the HDMI. have you seen anything or done anything with this?
Haven’t done it yet but have all the parts and the tech sheets on it. It takes a bit of work. You have to remove the seats and center console to swap the harness and cooler in. That’s basically it.

Hey everyone, new to the forum, and actually already did this swap on my 2017 esv but can't get it to work. Purchased the cooler, harness and switch from eBay and seemed too easy to be true as far as install. The harness that came with it was missing a plug for one of the mini USB plugs at the back of the console and another under the radio. Other than that, everything else lined up and plugged in. I doubt that the 2 USB connections are affecting the operation of the cooler, but that is why I'm here, to try and troubleshoot with others. The company actually sent me a second cooler and switch because I couldn't get the 1st one to work and alas, the second one isn't turning on either.

Is there maybe a fuse that needs to be installed in one of the empty slots? Any help is appreciated!

I also just bought the cooler, harness and switch for my 2018 Esc Luxury, All installed and double checked all plugs, and also not working. If you got yours working, was there a fuse to add somewhere? Didn't see a specific fuse location in the manual.

Thanks
Greg

I have a 2020 Platinum, it has the cooler, never used it except for storage of breath mints or wallet. I see it as a waste.
If you come by, remove it, you can have it for $100.

Did either of you figure this out? I'm interested in doing the swap since we take road trips and would love to have this option to keep our daughters milk chilled without having to worry about ice packs and spills in the ice chest.

Had some company in town and haven't gotten back to it yet, but I suspect there is a missing 12V wire in the dash harness going to the console harness main plug. Probably an issue with my Luxury model dash harness versus a Premium or Platinum model that would normally be set up for a cooler. Shouldn't be difficult work around but I will need to take the console apart again....

Yea, I haven't been able to figure this out yet either. Had my esv in for some warranty work and tried to get them to fix it and they told me I was missing a module. Did some more research and I believe the BCM may need to be updated and possibly communicate with the CUE system to have it all function properly.........

I gave up on my 2018 Luxury, when I pulled everything back apart I realized I was missing more than just one feed to the new main harness plug. I re-installed the original center console parts. I might have gone into deeper if I could have located a wiring diagram.

Hey Greg Were you able to get yours to work? Just installed mine in a 2015. Everything seemed to line up perfectly. Only one plug wasn’t there. It was for the arm rest light, which I assume was not needed. Also, the cigarette lighter in the console doesn’t work. What did you end up doing?
