Heat comes from the floor vents and A/C from the dash vents. The programmer controls it. There is no way to control it unless you want to get inovative and start rerouting vacuum lines from the ACM.

I think that it is probably most effective that way BUT it is sometimes better to have it blow out the top side why they decided to make it automated is not quite clear.

The system on our 2000 suburban is amazing it's automatic but you can still choose where the air blows out from so you get the best from both worls.

Why cadillac hasn't done that no one can really tell us maybe it would've cost a couple hundred more to do it or maybe it's UN-caddylike but I would really want that feature/option.

I think Sevilles and Eldos have that option. I guess the thought was that heat rises and if you put it out the vents then you'll never get your tootsies warm. I think it may also have something to do with completely automated systems, but I hear where your are coming from. I have always liked bi-level heat.

I know that in theory or some crap its probably more efficient but I would love an option that at least it would come out both vents like on lots of other cars.

It really wouldn't have even been a hard option to have included since it is all electronic all what was needed was a few extra lines of code and an extra button that's it.

This function is more important than traction control at least to me it is.

We'll just add this to the caddy disappointment list. Which is small but none the less it has been written.....
