Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give you guys a quick heads up on the water blade.....

I've been using it for about 7 months, but the other day I was washing my car and got a Long scratch from this product.... I was drying off the roof of the car, when i saw a long scratch form from a long wiperblade swipe that I did..... I threw that shit away immidiatly....Dont trust this thing...my 2 cents...

My hangover makes my writing and spelling skills suck....Sorry lol :alchi:

I'm not surprised about the blade thingy, Rey - ot the hangover travials:) :)

Once I've washed/clayed/washed my pride 'n joy it gets the genuine chamois treatment for drying. And even then, I'm anal about using an absolutely SPOTLESS chamois to do it with! Here's what the hood looked like after one application of Gary's poly product - check out the reflection of the hood ornament and the protection in the rain from that same product.
I don't dry my cars anymore. I wash and rinse with the spot free rinse at the car wash then I drive until the car is dry. Drying is just to dangerous.
I had a waterblade. Did the hood and took it back. It can't get in any kind of body line and really just wasted time for me. And $20.00 for a friggin' squeeze is crazy.

I use the absorber. It's like a super chamois. Just sucks up water. I used to use waffle weave but it slowly stopped absorbing until I might as well have been using a plastic shopping bag. No idea why.
I was going to start using a waffle weave but just never got one. The Absorber is supposed to be awesome. Where did you get the waffle weave that stopped working? Was it a good one?

Exactly..... I dont dry my car off anymore..... I just use Turtle wax "Ice" car wash...The water beads off this stuff and i take my car around the block a few times at high speeds...It drys good with No Waterspots

that's the way to go, i have been using those things for like 3 or 4 years now and they are the best.
An electric leaf blower works great, stay away from the water blades, can't tell you how many customers have damaged their cars finish using them. :(
I get 100 vestal virgins wearing nothing but cotton socks to blow very gently on my car to dry it off. Leaves no marks and is quieter than a leaf blower... :)

I use this im fairly happy with it. I use to be an avid California Blade user. But this is much better and faster.
100 vestal virgins? Best of luck finding 100 virgins of ANY persuasion in this day and age.
I had the same problem with the water blade so I quite using it. I have found if you have a fresh coat of wax or sealant you can take the nozzle off the end of the hose and flood the car. This seems to remove most of the water off the surface. I then use a couple waffle weave micro fiber and blow out the nooks and crannies with a shop vac or leaf blower. my car is black so it does not take long to get spots.

How fast?

The reason it may have stopped absorbing was maybe that you dryed/washed it with a softener. Those should not be dried with fabric softener sheets because it'll kill the absorbing property of the Water Magnet (that's what Meguiar's waffle weave is called). I've had mine for over a year and it still absorbs great.

The same speed it takes to blow the dust off.........

I think its called faster than the speed of dust.
