I'm currenly drive a Lexus IS 300 and planned on going to the IS350 but the price gets way high when you load it so I began looking closer at the CTS. Now that they color matched the rear license plate surround I really like it alot.

I surfed a dealer near me today and they had a 3.6 Sport Package Model Silver-black 18" wheels, sunroof, bose etc. I stopped by to look at it but it was still out at the rail head waiting to come in. The salesman walked me inside and whoa.... the most beautiful caddy I've ever seen was infront of me.

It was a 2006 silver CTS with the GM dealer installed VTXi package. 3.6L, full ground effects, chrome mesh grilles like the CTS-V, 20" chromed wheels, an awesome body contoured (pointy) rear spoiler. black leather, dark reddish wood dash, shifter, steering wheel. and other trim. I was dumbstruck, I couldn't stop starring at that car. Base car was 38K and the VTXi package was 8K or a total of 46K

Now my dad is retired GM so I told the salesman will they do the GMS employee plan on the car and he said yes including the VTXi package. So bottom line is just over 39K. Why did I go in that dealer, now I'm in love.

If you live in S. Florida near the Sawgrass Mall in Broward County go to Ed Morse Cadillac and prepared to be floored.

Second to ast pic is the of spoiler on VTXi

I honestly think that's what some dealers are calling the cars with the sport appearance package...it's beyond me why. It's a cadillac, it doesn't need an "Aspec" badge or stereotype.

I saw someone on ebay post that too at one point.

Its an appearance package for sure, but a really well done one. If GM allows the real employee discount, then they stand behind it. For me I want the "V" look but not the price or the 6-spd. Too much traffic for shifting here. I love that pointy rear spoiler that matches the sharp angular lines. The chromed V style mesh grill looks great as well. Now I'm also 51 yrs old and its not overdone in my opinion, it just looks right.

I want to see the "Sport" model as well when it comes in.

If interested, all those parts are available on the aftermarket and that way you could get GMS pricing off of 38K MSRP and get the kit/spoiler and grill for a lot less. In fact, you could do CTS-V bumpers with the spoiler all for less than 1500 bucks and no more than another 1500 for a set of 20's (which you could choose yourself from any local shop after you buy it). That would save you an extra 5 grand (not to mention, you'll be driving what looks identical to a V).'

If you like the VTXI and are willing to pay-up, good luck. If I had the choice, I wouldn't give Cadi the extra 8g's for 800 bucks in fiberglass molding and they really overcharge for rims.

Either way, you'll love the CTS:welcome:

I agree with smokin 04 cts. The CTS is a great car, but not worth over 40 grand. Get a V then. In all honesty the Lexus IS for $40k is better then a CTS for $40K. The CTS is great only because its value. you can get basically the same CTS for $30k without the little goodies which are put on afterwards by most members. I bought mine for $28k and with a little patience and time, I now have a CTS that if were new would sticker for close to $40. (luxsprt wheels, nav, wood interior, v grille, etc.)

Yeah, tacky. But, the spoiler is SWEEEEET. Is that the standard "sport package" spoiler? If so I know what I'm ordering on Mon. Man, I really gotta stop this spending spree on my car...

Just last week: Volant, Sub/Amp/Custom Install materials (500 bucks), Custom woodgrain in a lavishwood finish...Nothin' like spending a grand on your car in a week...

You've all got good points, its just a really well done package.

This is the car I'm interested in, cost is 35K without any incentives. I guess if I could get that spoiler I'd be very happy. Its just I love that chain mesh grille, gorund effects, and.............

I would like to get some pics of the VTXi package on the car at Ed Morse. Its not as over the top as the one (2003 I think) pictured in the post above. Its a very clean package without the front fender openings, rear bumper cover vents, rear window spoiler, sunroof spoiler, wheels are 11 or 12 spoke, etc. What I'm trying to say if you like the V look the VTXi (I saw) has only a couple added touches beyond.

I keep posting.....
