It seems that our Future Classics posts have spurred readers into dreaming up their own nominees. This time around, our Future Classic post was written by Autoblog guest writer Derek Kreindler. After my 74 Fleetwood had 4 breakdowns in one month, I ordered an 1984 Turbo Sunbird 4 door. It was a nice, roomy small car with plenty of go in the higher rpms. Sporty, but the ride wasn't bone-jarring.

GM's big mistake was rushing to market with a 4 cyl Cimmaron. The interior was attractive, with leather seats. That article had several other factual errors. The early-mid 80's was the nadir of auto design and performance, a reaction to the 79 oil crisis.
