Thank you all for your kind thoughts and generosity to this worthwhile cause to fight cancer.
My condition at this time is feeling great. I take methadone 10mg, half of a pill every 8 hours. On this amount of Meth. my eyesight is good, not blurry anymore.
It takes away all the pain from the cancer. I am down to 143 lbs. (was 185) I have lost a lot of muscle and have COPD, with only one lung that works (from 1967) which tires me out quickly. So I have to stop and rest while using oxygen when working with the car.
With a lot of help from my beautiful wife, we get the job done.
When I do wear myself out, the pain is from the fun work, not the cancer, So after 6 hours of fun car work, I take a shot of morphine Sul under the tongue to take all the pain away.
I also use lorazepam to help me sleep and get about 9 hours a night, plus a nap if I need one. There are also some steroids to help keep the pancreas functioning better.
I eat small meals all day long. But sadly no whiskey, the meds are too strong.
My food intake is been good since on Dec. 12th the ER surgeon opened The lower esophageal sphincter (LES) is a bundle of muscles at the low end of the esophagus, where it meets the stomach. When the LES is closed, it prevents acid and stomach contents from traveling backward from the stomach. The LES muscles are not under voluntary control. The cancer mass was blocking the passage.
I have still not settled with unemployment insurance, they have not made a decision to pay or not, but have a phone call with them on Jan 24th.
Next new item. FALLING:
My next obstical now that I can move around with no pain I am nervous of falling and breaking my hip. This is a very real problem for old,weak,drug-induced, people that can be dizzy. My cousin just fell and broke her hip, many people do, and I do not want to be on that list.
At this time I am investigating what I can do. I think I will be looking at electric mobility 4-wheel products. I used a wheelchair back in 2011 when I broke my ankle and was strong, now being weak there is no way I can maneuver a hand-powered wheelchair.
No one has any idea how long I will last, but with no chemo and no radiation, I will be going standing UP.
Thanks again for all your support.
Happy Motoring
