Hi All,

I recently bought a 2006 cadillac sts that was damaged from the front. The front bumper is gone, as well as the headlights. Instead of buying the 2006 parts I am looking to by the 08-11 parts to give it that new bigger grill look.

I am wondering how I can go about this and I would appreciate any help. Do I simply buy a 08-11 bumper and will this fit just like an 06 bumper would?

Also when looking to buy headlights, are the headlights from 05-11 universal? Meaning fit on any car from 05-11. And how do I know the headlight is HID rather than halogen?

Since my vehicle is damaged from the front and also the back bumper is damaged as well. I don't know if it has headlight washers or even cruise control. How can I look up what options my vehicle has so I know I am buying the correct parts? I have located both the VIN numbers and the service parts identification found in the trunk.

Thank you in advance!

The identification found in the trunk, is called the RPO codes, and it tells you everything
your car was shipped with. Use your VIN number at Compnine.com to identify your
RPO codes as to what your car has, The highlight washers are ONLY on cars that
were equipped with HID's.T84 headlamps are Standard Halogen.
Happy Motoring.

OOPS, Compnine has gone to a different format, and cannot look up as before,
(one free lookup a day), Maybe someone knows of another site to do that.
Compnine closed for a while, and reopened.
Post your RPO codes on here, and we will try to help you understand them.
Mainly your Package, Not the 1SZ , but the other one 1SA, 1SE,1SF,1SG ?

TT6, TT7 & TT8 are all HID RPO codes (TT6 for North America, TT7 & TT8 are overseas export versions depending on whether the car is left or right hand drive). The headlamps will fit 2005-11 (as long as you purchase HID or halogen depending on what the car was originally equipped with). Every STS has cruise control, but if you're asking about the adaptive cruise control (sometimes called distance sensing cruise control), you must have Head-Up Display for this option. No HUD = No Adaptive Cruise Control. Cars with adaptive cruise will also have a GAP +/- button on the steering wheel. Some cars however do have HUD but no adaptive cruise control. Adaptive cruise control wasn't a very common option.

Already tried Gmsurplus and they are sold out....

So I posted the RPO Codes for my vehicle. I'm looking to buy headlights for my 06 Cadillac STS and wondering if I need a specific one, or can I simply buy a halogen headlight or xenon headlight for my vehicle and expect an easy install. Also looking to get the 2008-11 bumper with the grill.

Again, appreciate the help !!

I see T84 for the standard halogen headlights. Don't buy the HID's.

You'd need the rest of the components to use them. Wiring and ballasts.

When I install the newer 08-11 bumper on my 2006 cadillac, will I have to adjust the frame of the vehicle at all? Or will it be the same as installing the 06 bumper???

Members doing that upgrade report no frame differences. The bumper may be a bit different but the cover takes care of that. You would need a different grille. The 'sticky' thread at the top of the forum or a couple of searches ought to get you to a thread with the details.
