What year/model was the wagon?

There's a 75 Fleetwood wagon for sale right now...

Whataya mean "only"?!?

There has been a Cadillac wagon built almost every year since 1956. They're not factory productions.

He said "WE". I take that to mean he worked for someone doing conversions. Might explain all the parts he has kicking around ;)

New Guy Here
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I worked for a Caddy dealership in 1965 for a couple of months, right out of high school. In 1972 I hired in at GM, Cadillac plant, Clark st. Detroit. We were building Coupes, Sedans, Fleetwoods, Talismans, Eldorados, and commercial chassis to be sent out to be built into ambulances, we also built a formal limo, with a manual sliding glass window seen alot of big name people come through the plant, Jesse Jackson, Coleman Young, Mary Kay, to name a few. Got into Fisher Body repair about 1974, 75, that was fixing anything, Fisher body or Fleetwood, all electrical and sheet metal. In 77 we had a cutback and I got bumped to Seville plant, 2 blocks away, still doing repair. We built the Seville and the Elegante, at the time, the Elegante, just before it would ship, it would go to 1 repairman and one paint specialist for 1 shift to check for rattles and a complete inspection, then the paint spec. would hand buff the 2 tone paint, till there was no flaws, and then pinstripe.
In 1987, the Cadillac plant was closing, I had 4 plants to choose from and I picked Livonia Powertrain because that's where the Caddy engines were built, and I wanted to stay with the Caddy name, when we were going into the Northstar Prod. I was on the start-up crew. I stayed on till 2002 and then retired.
We built 1 Caddy limo from a Caddy from the Lk. Orion plant, and we built 1, all White Caddy station wagon, which I have some of the only pictures of, i will try to figure out how to get these posted.

I think the Wagon was a "87" there was talk of going into production to help keep the plant open. The plant closed in the fall of "87"

I am dying to see the pics of the wagon. Had NO idea a factory wagon was produced! Please, tell us all you can.

Some questions:
- sedan or limo rear doors?
- B body roof/side windows/rear door?
- 307 engine?

I believe the body was an Olds Wagon with a Cadillac front and rear, and a White Birritz interior with Cadillac wire wheels. This is the only station wagon I had seen in 14 yrs.
We also built a lot of armor plate cars, they looked like 4 wheel drive Fleetwoods because of all of the super heavy duty suspension and the 8 or 10 ply tires, these cars were sent to, I believe, Penn. to have the armor plate installed. Seems to me I have a broadcast sheet that used to be on the winshield that says "United States Secret Service. If I can find it I will try to post a pic.

That engine was probably the 472 or 425, it had to be big to pull an armored car. This was a 1984. They looked really funny sitting up so high, you could see one on the line from across the plant.

It says it's not in the database. Commercial chassis, I remember them, they were a frame and drive train with front end sheet metal, 2x6 bolted to the frame and a spare tire bolted to the 2x6 for a seat. Used to ship them out for ambulances & hearses. They were a bi##h to drive like that.

I really want to see this too. I didn't know Cadillac made a wagon (I thought all of the ones out there were couch built specials).
