Take your car out on a rural country road and play with standing and running starts in 1 - 2 - 3 and get a feel for what it will do. See what happens when you load it up , brakes on, selector in 2 , dump it. Practice a while. Run that puppy out to redline in 2. Top it off with Shell 93 octane.

Then go kick his butt.

You'll enjoy seeing him in your rear view mirror,if he's not too small.
Get that bird to eat crow.

i told him that how in hell is he planning on smokin a v8 northstar engine with a v6 firebird . he think he's 3.8 has over 400 horsepower and that he will smoke my ass in a sec . i just dont understand why so many people think the northstar engine is worthless when i seen many caddys mostly sts's beat camaros, mustangs and many others .

well, I was playing with a mustang (maybe 06 or 07 base model) with my 94 sts. That was a midnight and that guy stopped beside me at a stop light. Without looking at him I knew exactly what he wants.

I didn't floor the gas and at the first 1 or 2 sec he was about half body ahead of me, so I went deeper and heard NS v8's sexy sound, in about 2 sec he shows in my rearmirror and never caught up. I also raced another mustang on I-80, I think they are slower than they sound. I am not sure how a 3.8 firebird compared to a reg mustang tho

i kno a sts would smoke camaros ,mustangs and firebirds like nothing . but im not sure if my baby my 97 sls can do what the sts can since it does have 25 less horsepower . but i think a 3.8 v6 firebird will just be another bump in the road.
ohh and one more thing . i keep hearing people say the seville cant hang with camaros because they are too heavy .

he has a camaro with a 200hp/225lb-ft. torque OHV v-6 and weighs about 3500, with wishbone front suspension and semi-independent suspension in the rear. 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and I think the top speed is limited on the v-6s to 110 and he's pulling about 17.5lbs/hp

You have a 275hp/300lb-ft. torque DOHC v-8, weight around 4400lbs, and four wheel independent suspension. 0-60 in about 6.8 secs and (since it is an SLS) a top speed of 120 and are pulling 16lbs/hp (the lower the weight per horsepower the better)

Based on the 0-60 alone you should have him in your rear view no problem. My tip would be to race him with a 1/2 tank or less of gas, and taking out the spare from the trunk (less weight the better). Hope this instills your confidence a bit more. Saying that a Seville can't hang because it is "too heavy" is just ignorant, the skidpad for the v6 camaro and the seville are about the same (.80 g) and we all know how "well" the camaros handle as a RWD anyway. Point in case, if you are racing in a straight line, F or R wheel drive is irrelevant.
