Buy a fairly new car without ANY warranty

When buying a fairly new car, we need to do have the dealer run a printed report showing if car is still in warranty. There is some kind of direct comm between ins cos and auto manufacts. In the event of some small (and certainly more serious) accidents, the manufact sometimes yanks the warranty from the car. I suspect this is one way that manufacts can lower their costs in today's terrible auto market.

Anybody have any specifics on how this comm works between the ins co and the manufacturer???

I think that's urban legend. GM would have no idea if something happened. They can't monitor every car they sell.
:yeah:

The only way a warranty can get branded is if it's brought in for service and the techs report serious flood, fire or engine/frame damage to the manufacturer.
